    1. Hi, Nice medal. I found a name in the Staats Handbuch 1863 Christophe
    2. Hi I have got Hauptmann Franz Sperr who was Adj AOk von Hindenburg. He received EH3aX on 9 November 1914. I have not the Bavarian Rangliste from 1918. Christophe
    3. Hello I started collecting when I found my first Mauser cartridges in a field next to my parents' house next to Armentières. I was eight years old. Then shrapnel, schrapnell balls, darts... That's how I became a historian. When I was 18, we used to walk through the fields with a metal detector to find our happiness. It was my time in the army as a research-writer in a research centre that made me love the orders of chivalry. I've been collecting them for 24 years now. Christophe
    4. Hi Grahanm In his book, Mr. Demir says that there is no maker known who realize that kind of medal with hallmark 950. For sure you have a very nice one. Congrats Christophe
    5. Hi Chris The man on the photo is a Major ? He did receive the EH3b or a with X before the grade of Major. The knight cross 2nd class with X is for Leutnant and Oberleutant. The knight cross 1st class with X is for Hauptmann. The commander cross 2nd class with X is for Major. I have checked the list and there is no officer from the Leib Regiment who receive the cross. Christophe
    6. Hi It is Saxe Ernestine knight cross, probably knight cross 2nd class with X Christophe

    9. Hi Waldo, Very interesting book. I would like to talk about that list. I see that Kaufmann has number 108. I had a copy from the Bavarian Archive and I had the MJ3 of Kaufmann. Ithas number 24 on the ring not 108 Christophe
    10. Thanks Sandro, that's the good link for the list Regards Christophe
    11. Hi You are right about the chronological numbers in the Kramer's book. Like Wilhelm Ritter von Reitzenstein has the number one he should be the first to received the MJ3. This is not the case. he was in fact the 23rd officer to receive it. Ritter von Kaufmann has got number 24 and was the 21st officer to receive the MJ3. Don't forget that there are several award dates. The validation date, which is the date of the diploma. The date of official reception when the decoration is awarded to the officer and the date of ennoblement The validation date of Kaufmann is 26 August 1914. He received it on 21 May 1915 and became Ritter von on 12 July 1915. I know that in Munich there is a list with all officers and matricule on the ring. This list is secret to prevent possible counterfeiting. Years ago I have posted my list here, you can make research easily. Christophe

    18. Hello Recently I have bought this nice card. Here is Leutnant d. R. Walther Kleeberg from IR 134. He received the SH3 on 8 December 1916 SV3bX after May 1918 (not on the Roth's book) SA3bX on 30 November 1915 HE3X on 2 May 1918 With that photos a new SV3bX is discovered. Now there is 1882 Saxon officers who received it. you can see that Kleeberg choose to wear the HE3X ahead the iron cross 2nd class against the rule. The photo has been taken in 1921 Christophe
    19. Hi Sandro A little mistake with the REO. it is with crown and bow not S for swords ? Christophe
    20. Hi Paris What a beauty ! Do you have the name of the officer who received this beauty ? Christophe
    21. Hi Charles It seems to be an 1870 ribbon bar to an officer who served after in WW1. It is strange that he is not wearing the Wurttemberg long service ribbon. Why he wears the Prussian REO ther? For me this ribbon should be after the commemorative ribbon of 1870-71. Do you know the owner of this ribbon bar ? Christophe
