    1. super photo of the Marine-Infanterie. I've been trying to research these units to learn of their campaigns on the Western Front but there's a dearth of information in English.

      French Generals

      Anyone?
    4. A real life saving stud. Incredible how one man was able to accomplish such feats.
    5. Would this be a prewar bar, a second row bar, or his only bar?
    6. Wow, those are wonder
    7. The soldier on the right appears to be wearing a 2 button Saxon cuff tunic.
    8. The photo of what appears to be Saxon Troops standing in water is very interesting. The NCO to the left looks to have special trousers unless they are completely soaked. The NCO in he middle looks complacent
    9. It would take me a good deal of time to read a German book. im not sure which to buy
    10. I've sent some time searching for history of the Seebataillon battle record in WW1 as well at the Marinekorps Flandern operations overall. Other than a bit on Sea Planes and boats I can't find much at all. My main interest is the Seebataillon organization and battle records. If anyone can recommend books in English than would be grand. As of now the only book I can find for sale in stock is Wielding the Dagger:The MarineKorps Flandern and zone German War Effort 1914-1918. I read a sample on kindle and it starts with Von Tirpitz and his desire for a costal land force then moves on to Von Schröder and the reasons for his appoint. The sample ends there and the table of contents gives no hint to whether or not it details the battles of the Seebataillon. 251 Divisions suggest the 3 Naval Divisions were 4th rate units. I'm not sure how accurate that is because they have faulty ratings of other units in my opinion.
    11. What's the proper belt worn with the field gray tunic for a Seebataillon Officer? The black leather, the black(blue-black) web or the brocade
    12. Chip, your items are superb and the best enlisted issue items I've ever seem. At least one of the tunics would be a joy to own.
    13. I'm still trying to decipher chips metaphor in the context of the statements above....
    14. The tunic, breeches, boots, belt, and a horizon kepi came as a set from a Frenchman who collects French generals items. i just like displaying the colored kepi.
    15. I need to look, I had one kepi with initials but I think I traded it. I do have one generals tuni with initials. I need to look at it.
    16. It's certainly a beautiful tunic but the insignia placement has to be postwar by someone who wasn't sure how to apply it. I like the captain stripes and have seen the prewar blue backed insignia on horizon blue in photos so that's not problem. The collar tabs don't match any legion type I've seen but are very well done so I would think original. i have no idea what the loops are for but not a medal for the rank captain would have won unless royalty as its for a breast star.
    17. Hey guys, I thought I would start a thread on Generals items and hope additions from other Collectors. it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to French generals.
    18. Breeches and Boots
    19. Here's a nice wartime tunic for a general de brigade. This set cam with tunic, trousers, boots, belt, and kepi.
