    3. well it could be but I dont think so. the ribbon I am looking for (I took a closer look has 5 vertical stripes green white green white green) one side of the medal destinctively shows a cross....I will look maybe for a scs medal (sachsen-coburg-saalfeld)
    4. Hi I am looking for a picture of a medal issued by sachsen-coburg-gotha (or its predecessor as a Duchy) for serviced during the Befreiungskriege against Napoleon. I have a painting (which I cannot show here) of someone who lived 1796-1864, served as a scg Geheimrat and amongst a PJO, a BZL2b and a SEHO3 wears a medal with a ribbon that looks either black/dark green striped. Its a long shot, but maybe someone here can help me out with identifiying the medal. regards David
    5. Hi I am looking for the entry of the former kurhessian cavalry-officer Oberstlieutenant William Ralph von Heathcote in the following book Ulrich, C.: von: Das Husaren-Regiment Landgraf Friedrich II. von Hessen-Homburg (2. kurhessisches) Nr 14 1708-1919. I am especially interested in his full career, possible picture and ODM-data. regards David
    6. Hi Markgraf thanks yes I did, frankly that is where all I have now comes from :-) regards
    7. Ian, thank you, it does have a great sunday All the best David
    8. Hi I am looking for the careerdates and possibly a picture of Johann Drandler. He was in Husaren-Regiment Nr 8, commanding it around 1871. I know he was eingereiht as a Major in the Jazygier und Kumanier Huszaren-Regiment Friedrich Fürst zu Liechtenstein Nr 13 September 7th, 1865. He was promoted Major already in 1861. He was an Oberst by 1871, commanding HR 8 did not make it to General-rank though. Hope to find out more here regards David
    9. on the kurhessian OEH and the OPVM: http://davidmueldner.wordpress.com If you have any comments (good or constructively critical) please tell me here
    10. Hi Daniel thanks for that, do you know how the book is composed? I am looking specifically for individual accounts of mostly non-prussian decorees of the OPM. Is that in Hammelman, or does it 'just' give a global history and some statistics? David
    11. Hi Komtur thanks! But my main interest is the era up untill the 1870's. and mainly the napoleonic wars
    12. Thank you so much for the additional information, were did you find it?
    13. Hi I am looking for a book on the subject. I do know there is one by Zweng and one by Lehmann, I would like to know what kind of information they contain. Is it just the date of the award, or does it describe the circumstances as well? If so, I have a few kurhessian knights of the order whom I would like to know more about regards David
    14. Hi1864 Sure, I am not suspicious at all, sent you a PM
    15. something saxon I guess, because of the FA on the box, right. I cannot tell if it is the SCVO or the SMHO, since the shape of the cross is rather equal
    16. Great Andy thanks! Where did you find this info, is there some kind of book on the StH?
    17. Hi I was wondering if there is a book on the Militairy Order of St. Henry. I am looking for data on 2 recipients: Friedrich Gustav Rouvroy (1771-1839) Karl August Freiherr v Lützerode (1794-1864) any kind of information/pictures would be very helpful :-) Wishing you all a very merry christmas!
    18. I did find his Major promotion 20.06.1854 and the fact that it was not he who got the HG3, but his father. I just hope there is something of a picture of a written biography in any kind of book. His family is well written about :-)
    19. Isnt that a pain, some use 3 where others use 2b or 2 (without an *) for the Commanderscross 2nd Class. I stumbled across that whilst compiling the biographies of the different CHWO awardees. Its especially troublesome with orders which include an officers rank (between Commanders Cross 2nd Class and Knight). Because than a Knight can be anything from 3, 3b, 4, 5......so first know what the order hierarchy looks like (including WHEN, because they might add a class when your not paying attention
