The front was white showing the portraits of the two sovereigns at the time....can anyone help me find the link to the book? thanks alot David

There is a complete list of all MMTHO winners to be found here http://www.austro-hungarian-army.co.uk/mmtoind.htm with that and the timeframe you have ( I would say roughly between 1790 and 1820) you would have some digging to do, you could also compare the namelist with the recipients of the Baden Order (to be found in the online Baden Staatshandbbücher I am sure). Crossreference them and you will have your answer. regards David

    9. Hi I have 2 officers in my CHWO research who retired without "Beibehalt des Militär-Charackters". Why would this happen? Of at least one of them I know he asked to be quittiert without his Militair-Charackter ad he was a Generalmajor. It really puzzles me, as I thaught officers who retired would be proud of their accomplishements... hope someone can explain this to me regards David

    17. one of the things still missing is the hessen homburg two swords crossed medal for the befreiungskriege....dont know how rare it is or if anyone here has it though....
    18. I looked over this old thread of mine but cannot shake loos the idea why there should be 2 entries for the same medal (according to Rick R.) The Gallipoli Star would have been the same as the osmanische Kriegsmedaille? Are there not any alternatives? regards David
