    1. Hi Lawrence, nice hats. BTW the crusher isn't unfortunately a 1950's authentic one, (Wish it was). It was one I picked up at a local flea market quite some while ago. It looks like someone tried to make it look like a TR crusher. I re-attached a badge and chin strap. The date code inside is H regards Alex

    7. Hi, attached as requested a few more of the ones I can find. first the airforce Airforce enlisted man
    8. I thought I would share my latest purchase, It's the Hungarian Order of Merit, Officer class. No makers mark but in fine condition with a nice patina on the reverse, I like the quality of the enammeling of these, done to a very high standard. Were these made in Hungary or other places?. I was suprised to see that it is quite a bit larger than the Knights class of the order. edit it's very convex regards Alex

    12. Hi 922F, It is a lengthy reply but one full of useful information. I will take my time to digest the info contained, as I'm sure it will help me in the future. A number of Bulgarian awards are a particular theme of mine. The ribbon I posted is from an early Order of Civil Merit Commander class so may show different shades to those described by you for later awards. Thanks for the input. Regards Alex

Hi I also read his book a good few years ago and he definately never lost his zeal for the NS cause, I believe he was involved in right wing politics in germany during the 50's, possibly before going to South America, he returned in the early 50's. Attached is an interesting post war photo of him obviously proudly wearing his wartime decoration, against the law if taken in germany. regards Alex
