    1. If you compare carefully both orders, you will see some specific markers that exist on the real thing and are missing or differ on the fake one. The word "Муляж" would do nicely the trick. Marc
    2. Christophe, In short: too many But one of them is the real one (hint: it is not the first one shown in this thread). Marc
    3. Noor, Here is the Order of Friendship SN 7314; This one is original Marc
    4. Doc, Good for you if that is so. I personally would not want this one in my collection, though. Marc
    5. Rick, Soviet medals and orders awarded during the past several years are given with standard Russian Federation booklets. In it, the original Ukaz date and number are indicated to make it clear that it is a catch-up award. Marc
    6. Andreas, This looks the way it should, and the box is also original. Congratulations, this is a nice find Marc
    7. Dan, I think you got that one nailed, once more. In russian, it is called "обмывать". Marc
    8. Dan, Well done Posner is something of a character, being born in Paris, living in the US until he was 18,then moving back to the USSR where he had not lived yet. That probably explains his NY accent It looks like I just kept the seat warm for you in this case. So, you're up for the next question. Shoot! Marc
    9. Gordon, Do all Golden Kites have/should have that small "M" mintmark? Marc
    10. Riiiiiiiiight! And I thought it was a nearly obvious question How about some initials? Let's say VP and PJ Marc
    11. Rick, The word "печник" indeed means "stove-maker", "stove-setter", or "stove-man"; "печатник" means "printer". So, one of your dictionaries is right (the other one, well, ). The word for "stoker" or "boiler-man" is "истопник", "кочегар", or "котельный машинист". Marc
    12. Impressive, Bob. Keep up the good work!!! Marc
    13. Andreas, He received a Military Merit (commonly called Combat Services ) medal, not a Bravery medal. Marc
    14. Is that a US Silver or Bronze Star he's wearing at the bottom? Marc
    15. Kristof, I was simply answering Miguel's questions about the authenticity of this group. Under the pretext that this is the "Researched Awards & Groups" thread - and even though this group has NOT been researched - should we simply show anything and everything, including obviously fake items, and keep our foot in our mouth? I personally don't think so. Now, I guess the thing to do would be to mover this thread to the "Fake" section. Marc
    16. Miguel, The pictures are not the best, but I can see quite a few problems already: . ORS: later type, original SN erased and replaced . OPW: fake pin, fake suspension, soldered ring, SN does not correspond to the type . Booklet: I've got a funny feeling about it. I don't like the ink mostly Marc
    17. Well, it looks like my proposal completely fell flat! Never mind So, no one is inspired? This should be a rather easy question involving two celebrities. Marc
    18. Christophe, What make you say that this pin is from the 1920~30's? Looks more recent to me. Marc
    19. Hassemilitaria, Could you please clarify what you mean by FFL. From what I can see, you have some modern Foreign Legion badges, some qualification badges, but nothing from WW2 "Forces Francaises Libres". Marc
