    1. Now that is a rarity. Any clues to the number of professionally serving members of the Civil Defence Forces? Also, did they have any enameled medals?
    2. I have not seen one of these on a medal bar before. Thank you for sharing these. Are the military versions difficult to find?
    3. This is not true. There are known fake examples of the Hindenburg Cross out there. Every one of these medals are faked, and some of them quite well. These bars are nice originals. I do not think that they are re-ribboned. These bars definitely belong to two different people(due to the way they are mounted), although it would be possible for one person to have all of these medals.
    4. These orders are beautiful and very well made!

Some very good information. Thank you for sharing it. I like the photograph of the US Air Force Col receiving them medal!
    6. Great set Lambert. What did he do to earn this award? Is his citation for the award public?
    7. I have never seen anything like it. Is there a way you can post an image of the back of the badge?

Very interesting topic. I would love to see some closeups of these medals, if someone has them in their collections.
    10. Hi Larry, I am still stationed on my ship. I am just able to log on a bit more, for now. I have another year here in CA. Who knows from there. My retirmenet from the military has been delayed because of the crappy economy. Maybe I can pick up a couple more paygrades in the meanwhile. I still love hte service, so no biggie for me. So those boards posted by Roman are definitely LSW/SHD. I would love it to have one, as it is missing from my collection. Nice score Roman! I have seen a lot of lined beamte shoulder cords. They did not follow the rules much for some reason. Since they were not military personnl, they were no held accountable to the same standards...
    11. That is an interesting twist. Where did you see the part about him wearing a "fake" NCO ranking? If this is the case, he was most definitely screwed if he were caught.
    12. YEah, but they were matte, right? Also, did the Heer beamte wear pips on that style of board?
    13. I am surprised that he did not receive any combat badges(IAB or GAB), Close Combat Badge, and etc.
    14. Arnim, Thank you for sharing those great photos of your grandfather. They do illustrate a lot about the beamte uniforms. I am glad to hear that he survived the war in good shape. How did he say the french treated him? Roman, The shoulder board is for a medical officer with the SHD and/or LSW. THese were air raid search and rescue personnel and early air raid warning personnel. I love to have that in my collection.
    15. Thank you for sharing these awesome photos. I really like the ZSU-23
    16. Nice! Thank you. I have never seen this ribbon type on a ribbon bar before. They must have been pretty rare.
    17. That is almost comical... his comeback was- But I am not a deserter. I have been looking for my unit the whole time!
    18. Thank you for that. So the initially posted award is worn by civilians and the seocond photo is one worn by someone in uniform(military. police, and etc)?
    19. That comb is pretty grim. What does the inscription translate into?
    20. From what I can see, the both look good to me. Can you post some clear close up shots fo the frant and back of each bar?
