    1. The odd thing is that he has tons of nice tabs he is parting with at this time as well. Maybe he came across everything as a huge lot and is selling it without knowledge of what is good or bad. Paul
    2. Bill, You must have the most definitive collection of Engineer artifacts I have ever seen. Did the H?drich documents come from one grouping? How did he get so much exposure to so many high level leaders? Do you have a listing of all of his wartime awards? Did he stay with the Engineer Corps until the end or did he opt to join the Regular Luftwaffe when the opportunity arose? Paul
    3. That is a great display... I remember just missing this one!! A very nice and unique tunic!
    4. I am still not comfortable with the application of the tabs on the Overcoat... but who knows. I have seen some pretty strange things on original pieces. I really like your Oberfeldwebel tunic and the Heer Officer's visor. Nice collection!
    5. Thanks for posting these photos. What type of camera did you use? The quality and clarity are great!
    6. Those are some awesome photos. I look forward to seeing more when you get the chance! Regards Paul
    7. Because the Marine Corps are under the Dept of the Navy they are, in a sense, in the same organization. When I was in the Marines, our Navy Corpsman had to go through some sort of FMF(Fleet Marine Force) School before being qualified to being assigned with us... The funny thing about the Navy Corpsmen assigned to Marine units is that they were allowed to wear the Marine Corps uniform, but with custom made Navy rankings and ect. Paul
    8. BJW, Thank you for the compliment, yet the credit is not all mine by a long shot. I had a lot of help putting it all together from some fellow mods! Chris, I think that the German Panzer Divisions still use pink. Regards Paul
    9. Bill! This is awesome stuff! That document is one of the best I have ever seen. I have never seen an Officer review document. It sheds some light on the type of work these men did!!! I can hardly wait until my H?drich photo comes in! Dont be shy! Lets see more... even if it has been posted before! Paul
    10. Lets see what you have... be it information, photos, documents, insignia, uniforms, or instruments. Anything goes, as long as it relates the the topic!
    11. Lets see what you have... be it information, photos, documents, insignia, uniforms, or instruments. Anything goes, as long as it relates the the topic! What did these men do, exactly? Did they make maps or lay out flight plans for upcoming missions using intell and weather? What were the requirements to become a Nautiker(Navigator)?
    12. Nice!!! This is a first... An overcoat tab on a regular tunic!!! How do you all find all of this stuff?!
    13. That does look that the very man!!! What are the odds of that!? He does seem to be a bit old to be a Regular LW leutnant!! I wonder if he is an Administrative Official?
    14. I know... I am the bidder!! Thank you for the referral though!
    15. That would make more sense. The officer's looked too clean, fat, and happy to be in the Soviet union. The manner in which the girls are dressed and groomed reminded me of a Ukrainian shot I saw once.
    16. He sold one with a book for 900+ dollars recently. The early 90s was the time to get them. I am glad that I got mine... I could never afford one now!
    17. Jacques!!! Thanks! That is an awesome photo!! Great photo of the Sonderfuhrer!! Ukrainian girls? The officers do look very well fed!!!
    18. Hi, I think that the trouser stripe is actually a crease... I have a set of similar trousers with deep creases in the same area.
    19. and the back... Lets see your Field Division tabs. All additions and comments are encouraged! Paul
    20. Hi Bob! Thanks for that bit of knowledge... I wish I had more time to read and re-read my references... Regards Paul
    21. Luftwaffe Corps of Navigation: The Luftwaffe Corps of Navigation was established sometime in the late 1938 to early 1939 time period. The actual order has not been found. Like the Engineers, the Navigators held the status of non soldiers(Officials). As of February 1939, the members of the Luftwaffe Corps of Navigation were ordered to wear the Luftwaffe uniform with their designating insignia which were: 1. Tabs- The tabs were very similar to those of the Corps of Engineers. The wreath/propeller were used to specify rank. The waffenfarbe, was dark green(same as the Admin Officials). These officials were all of the elevated career(silver piping) 2. Shoulder boards- The boards were multi layered like those of the Administrative Officials. The bottom layer designated the branch color(Dark Green). The upper nebenfarbe was bright yellow until 08October1941 where the boards were changed. The branch color then became pink with a light blue nebenfarbe. 29November1941, The Navigation Corps was disbanded. Most of the officers were transferred into the Luftwaffe proper as line officers in the Flight Branch. Now, what did these men do exactly? Did they make maps or figure lay out flight plans based upon missions, intell, and weather? Those who did not meet the qualifications and conditions for transfer to the Luftwaffe, or did not consent to a status as a Luftwaffe Officer were transferred to the Corps of Engineers as navigation personnel. There were the following three paygrades: Fl. OberNautiker- Oberleutant Fl. HauptNautiker- Hauptmann Fl. StabsNautiker- Major Here are what the tabs look like... Obernautiker(Oberleutnant) Hauptnautiker(Hauptmann) I am always looking for an example for a StabsNautiker!
    22. And another nice photo from Jacques. Notice that he is a decorated Spanish Civil War Veteran. Most likely, he was brought in from the Regular Luftwaffe.
