    1. Were these women considered "veterans" back then?
    2. Ironically, I have asked myself the same question. I thought that the awards presented had to do with who was in charge of the division(bavarian, prussian, or etc).
    3. That is the most beautiful 1870-1 bar I have seen. Thank you and Rick for sharing it. Was the Baden Zähringen Lion Order-Knight 1st Class a valor award, like the EK1?
    4. That is some cool stuff. I had no idea that disgraced officers would be afforded the opportunity to redeem themselves, but with the losses incurred during WW1, it makes sense. Did he receive any decorations in WW1? Were redeemed officers allowed to wear their old decorations? Please tell Rick I said hi.
    5. It is a very interesting question. I hope that someone can clarify this...

Chris, I am sorry to hear about the international incident. I hope that you did not lose too much money in the situation. The items you brought back are beautiful. Do you know the award criteria for these medals and ribbons?
    7. I hear you Chris. What do the 1929-1935 era of infantry boards with embroidered regiment look like?
    8. It looks medical to me. I am new to this area, so I look forward to hearing other input!
    9. Thanks Christophe! I hope to add to this thread regularly. I hope that you have a Merry Christmas!
    10. Here are a couple of new trade badges that I found a while back!!!
    11. I picked up this interesting flak strap for cheap... Does anyone know the significance of the green and gold tress sewed onto the base?
    12. M44 straps are fairly uncommon, but the Luftwaffe versions are rare. Lets see any that may reside in your collections! The first is for a Medical EM and the second is for a flight NCO candidate or LW Foriegn Legions.
    13. Beamte items are uncommon, yet such high rankings are very scarce. This is for a General Administrative field. The nebenfarbe is bright red. If you have any such items, I would love to see them!
    14. A set of Leutnants boards from the 236th, where he served for most of his career. I have a Feldwebel from the 79th IR that is inbound! I will post it when it arrives. Hopefully, there will be more additions soon!
    15. IR 18 and IR60. He was at these units during his prewar years. I would love to find some of the correct Reichswehr 18IR boards, but this one will have to do for now!
    16. As you can see, during his 16 years of service, he was assigned to an array of units. My goal is to find shoulder straps and boards that match his paygrades during his time assigned to each unit, as well as his awards.
    17. Despite being a Luftwaffe fanatic, I have made it a goal to build a collection built upon the career of Major Reck. He was a veteran of France, Norway, Leningrade, and of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. He joined the Reichswehr in 1929 as a private. During the prewar years, he accended to the rank of Hauptfeldwebel and was commissioned as a Leutnant in 1940. By the wars end, he was a Major. I think that his progression in rank was hampered by an Alcohol related AWOL(where he received 10 days of house arrest) charge in Norway, and his crappy attitude with his training billet at the Infantry Officer Candidate school, in Posen in 1943. He was highly decorated, with a DKiG(Warsaw Uprising), Honor Roll Clasp(Leningrad), WBiG, EK1, EK2, and various other service medals and badges.
    18. I thought that I posted this, but I must not have. I have have somewhere else, forgive me.]
    19. My newest trade!! I am very excited. I have not seen too many LW Beamte of NCO ranking around!!!
