    1. super nice tunics! The rainbow div is a very highly decorated unit!!
    2. I hear what you are saying... but they were at least able to retire with full benefits.
    3. Definitely worth the research!!! I hope you decide to do it!
    4. You have some great medals Dan! Your collection is coming right along nicely! Gordon... WOW! I love the police medal/photo grouping. I have not seen too many legit groupings about! Paul
    5. That was definitely a different time. Today, he would have been "respectfully asked" to retire!
    6. As usual Bob, you have some great stuff. I am envious of your tail sections!!
    7. My gosh! I had no idea the GDR uniforms so closely resembled the ones used during the war. How can a tunic or tabs be accurately dated? Did the forestry service continue to use the TR color system? Black- Luftwaffe Brown- Private Service Gray- Heer Green- State Paul
    8. Thanks Bob! I did not know that the mandate to wear the chest eagles came so late! The photos range from 1940-44, based upon everything I saw on Ebay with this group.
    9. Same group... notice the same Band Master. This time with chest eagles. The quality of the EM uniforms worn by these men is evident in the photo... Not the cheesy heavy wool!!
    10. Notice the sheet music pouches on the belts. Also, the lack of chest eagles. The photos that were dated ranged from 1940-4. Why no eagles?
    11. Here are a couple more from the same group. I am still upset that the seller broke the grouping to sell on Ebay. There were over 50 photos. I managed to get five of them. This one was taken at a funeral.
    12. The forestry service did have their own uniform. I saw one some time ago. I think that they are pretty darn rare! Paul
    13. Some more data... from Dion I would say 98% That the Dr Twardy in the Lexicon the Wehrmacht is the guy. I googled Dr Twardy with out search word Wehrmacht and I only get 4 pages and the man is a Professor Doctor here at the University of K?ln. I believe the latter is not our guy, he would be far to old. Also it appears the had no Vets? 14. Great stuff, Bob! Were you able to keep any of it? What became of your relics? Paul
    15. You guys have some stunning examples. The Border Guard tunic is smok'n!! The Soviets had some very colorful dress uniforms.
    16. I am not experienced with these, but it seems to be an attractive piece! Maybe someone with some experience can give an educated response? paul
    17. Thanks for the explanation Gordon. I learn something new every day here! I really love that tunic. Congrats on finding it.
