    1. I'm sure those more knowledgeable than I will say the more expensive of the two has a seldom-encountered attachment setup. Not a price I would pay, but I could imagine others who might (and apparantly did) to fill an elusive hole in their collection.
    2. Gentlemen, thank you for your replys and opinions - you have some beautiful examples! With luck, I will hear soon if the example I showed is marked or not. Thanks again. Scott
    3. I've already got a nice one, but might be tempted to get another. However, I definitely want opinions on it before I contemplate the purchase. I've asked the seller if there are any markings on the lower arm - I'll post the reply when I get it. Were period HHOx's ever completely unmarked? Anyway, all opinions welcome. Thanks! Scott
    4. After further study today, I must agree. Thank you gentlemen. Scott
    5. This is listed as a gold cross, although the pictures make it look silver. These are the only pictures I have - it's not mine, but I am curious about it. All opinions welcome! Scott
    6. It looks like someone stamped a LW eagle over the existing ship design? Scott
    7. Stunning Medical Reserve tabs Gary. I love the little "V"s on the gulls. Scott
    8. It might help if those that have these badges post their dimentions and weights. Perhaps with that data we can find a common denominator? Scott
    9. Great photos. Thank you for your service there.
    10. The front looks close; but in my opinion, the reverse looks all wrong for this maker (hinge, pin, catch, markings, etc.). I'd be curious to hear what others say. Scott
    11. Just about any qualification or war badge would take precidence over a sports badge, so my guess is the badge below (out of full view) is something of relatively low importance. Unfortunately the droop-tail eagle on the uniform is not always a reliable dating indication, as there was no mandated change policy (as far as I know), and many late war photos show NCOs and officers still wearing droop-tails . Scott
    12. Great photo - love the piping around the collar tabs and early-quality cap. Rick, are you sure about the 1939 KVK2x in the number 2 spot? The ribbon stripes don't look the proper width, and (more speculation) wouldn't he have it in his button-hole with his EK ribbon rather than his '38 Sudeten ribbon? Just curious. Scott
    13. Sounds interesting Mike - can you share a photo of it? Scott
    14. Thanks for working your magic Don (when I posted last night, the most recent entry in this thread was from 2005!) Scott
    15. Interesting information and photo - thanks for sharing it. Imagine the comments if that tunic were for sale at a show! (PK - you beat me to it!) Scott
    16. I know this is an old thread, but I'd like to re-awaken it. Please continue to post your flight related tinnies, day/event badges, etc! Here are a couple of mine not yet posted here...
    17. Very nice. I'd like to have one in my collection, but I had my back turned for a moment, and when I turned back around prices jumped about 300%. Scott
    18. I've never seen that one before. What's the history on it? Scott
    19. No case unfortunately - at least not that I know of; they were hung on the wall somehow. The 'horseshoes' are copper-colored, which may have been tarnished gold. These are in my wife's uncle's collection - he's a retired military history professor and author in Germany. We visited him last year and I took some photos of his few collectables, and just recently downloaded them from the camera. He had an amazing talent for painting lead figures. Scott
