    1. Quite right, Rick, the collective knowledge on this site is unprecedented. Every day I learn.
    2. After reading this thread, the first thing I did was check all my RAO's for this funky-chicken fake.
    3. Interesting Bavarian bar, Scott. Looks like the ribbon in last place is for a long service award.
    4. On the twelve o'clock arm on the reverse of the Mecklenburg cross, at the top, is that a scratch or a die flaw or a casting mark?
    5. Nice item, interesting that he was a combatant in 1870, but a non-com in Africa.
    6. Scott, I have an almost identical bar, but with the Oakleaves and a clasp on the KDM, and it has a Prussian long service. Your bar looks okay to me, but the photos aren't the greatest. I think the price is fair if the pieces are genuine.
    7. Nice bar, Scott. I hate to be a nag, but I think we need a separate thread on the correct spelling of Wuerttemberg.
    8. Nice collection of bars, but what happened to the two Saxon ones? Looks like someone parted them out.
    9. Like the other members, I'm in awe of this collection. As my Oma would have said, "Ach du meine Guete". Absolutely outstanding material, Sandro.
    10. Hi Rick, It's the bronze "Der Tapferkeit" medal with the Franz Josef portrait, so I'm assuming a pre-1916 award.
    11. Very nice piece, Richard. I think you should do a recreation of my uncle as CO of 9. JG 3 in the summer of 1940, so you need EK 1 and Spange, PilotObserver (J1), Juncker WW 1 Pilot Badge, WW 1 Wound Badge in Black and a Feldspange. Or you give me the Fliegerbluse and save yourself the trouble......
    12. Sorry, no scans as my scanner is having compatibility issues with my new computer. No paperwork with the group, but the Iron Halfmoon is engraved with the guy's initials. I suppose he could have been an NCO, but I suspect no WW 2 service as there are no awards after 1938.
    13. Hi Tom, That's a nice one. I recently picked up a Gold Merit Cross with a "70" button, but also have no idea what these were given for.
    14. Great information, gentlemen. I've thought of "getting into" Napoleonic items, but keep getting sidetracked into other areas. My 3XGreat Grandfather fought at Waterloo, and I have a nice portrait of him wearing the ribbon of the Prussian 1815 medal in his buttonhole.
    15. Steve, that is a fabulous and unusual bar, congratulations. I guess you'll be keeping it? Scott, I guess I beat you to the other bar, my apologies. However, some of the bars you've shown are out of this world, I love that Baden bar.
    16. Gentlemen, I recently picked up a group of items belonging to a Luftwaffe officer named P. Hauff. It includes his EK 2 1914, Honor Cross with Swords, Luftwaffe 12 and 4 Year Long Service Medals, Austrian Bravery Medal, 1. October 1938 Medal and his Turkish Iron Halfmoon. It's a long shot, but if anyone has more information on this guy, it would be great.
    17. Gentlemen, Could someone enlighten me as to the statutes for award of the jubilee buttons found on Prussian decorations? And while we're at it, post your examples here.
    18. Nice bar, Scott, again I have it's near twin, with the addition of the Austrian Merit Cross.
    19. Scott, that's an interesting bar. I have it's near twin, only mine has the Merit Order Knight's Cross with Swords, while yours has the member's cross, I believe.
    20. Aha, nice to see the Fireman's Long Service Clasp in wear, as I just picked up one of these (thanks, Eric).
    21. Wow, some very interesting things there. I particularly like the Seringapatam medal, which was given for Wellington's first major victory over, I believe, the somewhat crazy Tipoo Sultan.
    22. Igor, I'd love to find a miniature of the medal for foreigners, as I have a mini medal bar (courtesy of Noor) which is missing this medal. I bet it's impossible to find one.
