      Honestly, the historical content of this one puts any Charge of the Light Brigade group to shame. Repeat after me: "Potemkin". (Though a bit more evidence would be a nice touch, it seems kosher.) And, even though it is far outside my field, I can see that. But, then, some would rather have 3,516 (more or less) essentially identical and totally history-free 1914 EK2s? Whatever gets you through the night?

      True. I guess. And you could also (almost) buy a VC group (if Lord Ashcan weren't in the bidding). So??? Much less history in the collar and the VC group would at least be named (though it too, for that much money, wouldn't have too much history connected with it).

      Again, we confront the standard Western European approach -- we awarded you a nice piece of paper, now run along and buy your medal if you want one. (Good news for the jewelers and their design inventiveness.) Not everyone awards nicely named or numbered awards.

      Yes, the Glory can certainly be researched, if 1- you are willing to pay for it and 2- it ever comes in (no luck, no charge) - reasearch has gotten VERY sporadic these day (I hope this means nothing in cosmic terms?).

      Interesting, William. #2082 is way (WAY) beyond the maximum recorded for a normal silver pinback (which is #2006), and well into the range for what I think is a fraudulently named nasty-brassy Sukhbaatar (the only one recorded is #2057, which I doubt). I'd want a close sniff at that one . . . . Any idea what the #2082 was???
