    1. Good Morning Ed!! I think that it my be my Adobe Reader on my computer, but I can't download the Prussian list. Would you Please e-mail it to me? Doc
    2. Rick, Would you Please translate your list for this Imperial Newbie? 1) H-R (StH-R) 2) VR1X (SV3aX) 3) 1914 EK2 (no date) 4) AR1 (SA3a), 5) DAK (Saxon XXV) Doc
    3. Gerd, I'll be around. There's too much stubborn Irish blood (my new avatar is my family crest) in my veins. I like this forum and most of the people here too much. I'm not convinced by Kilka's "evidence". To paraphrase Soviet " No one can say that the ORB is Bad or Good based on the scans/pictures since we don't have the ORB in hand". I still think, based on the evidence presented that it's a good ORB. In, fact, If the current owner doesn't want it, I'll buy it from them. I'm that convinced. Doc
    4. My apologies to Ed and all. I'll become a silent observer and make no further posts. Regrets, Doc
    5. Christophe, Thanks for the pictorial tour of the museum!! Doc
    6. Now that I've had time to look, look and look again and re-think this, Kilka's so-called evidence is VERY lacking in proof!!! I don't see why Ed should have to get a COA because of Kilka's VERY bad "evidence". Kilka, There is nothing personal about this. Welcome to the forum!!! I just disagree with the "evidence" you posted and I know my experience and the experience of Ed & Chuck. Bottom line it's NOT a fake!!! Enjoy the forum!!! Doc
    7. Gerd, I LOVE that Medical Officer group Doc
    8. Kilka, So far, IMHO NOTHING you have shown changes the authenticity of the ORB. There is nothing about it that says "fake". It's a good ORB in my book!!! If anything , it's well worn. I agree that To satisfy the Kilka's mob he should have PMD look at it, but Ed has as good an eye for these as anyone else Doc
    9. Gerd, Because Santa's gifts bother you, I will gladly relocate them to my house so you can click on the smiling smilie!! LOL Santa was a day late but I'm very Happy!!! I have a researched ORS to a Medical Officer. I think I've found my niche...Awards and militaria to Medics and Medical personnel. Happy New Year My Friend, Doc
    10. Ferdinand, Research is worth every penny!!! You won't be disappointed. Ask for everything...Award card, Citation(s), Service Record with service record picture. I have one group I'll post that has a biography of the Lt. Colonel. If you don't read Russian get the translation. I am like a kid on Christmas Day when a packet of research arrives. Doc
    11. Naxos, Is this for real? If it is a cookbook Please show some of the inside pages. Doc
    12. That's a stunning ribbon bar Santa was SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD to you!!! Doc
    13. A beautiful memorial to Anthony, a fallen Son of Eire. Thanks for sharing this!!! Cincis, Doc
    14. Thank You for making this Irishman's Day!!! It's not often that Irish medals are posted. Cincis, Doc
    15. Darrell, I see the the problem with the spange. I'm having problems with the packet. I see a difference in paper color but to me the printing is the same except that one has faded printing. Doc
    16. Darrell, So that I know, What is wrong with the packet? Also, is the spange okay? If not...Why? I need to learn this stuff. Doc
    17. Thank You Gerd!!! The documents came with his ORS. I am going to recommend that he get the rest of the translation. Thanks again my friend, Doc
    18. Gentlemen, These two douments were sent to me by a young man I have helped and encouraged his interest in the ORS. Am I right to say that the Archive record document will make things MUCH easier for the researcher? Also, is the Russian document the same as the translated document? Doc
    19. IMHO the first six serial numbers were entered by the same person. I base this on a Analysis of the numbers. There are matches with the numbers 2,4,6,8,9 & 0 among these first six entries. The ink used to make the entries appears to have come from the same pen. Doc
    20. The Order of Polonia Restituta from Poland is on the WRONG ribbon. The Cross is from the PRL (Communist) era. Doc
    21. Jacky, Thanks!! I was searching the internet for the Dutch Crown Order and this was the closest I could come. Now I know!! Doc
    22. Are you referring to the Order of the Crown? When first established in 1841, the Order of the Oak Crown was constituted in a hurry, as the Grand Duke wanted to establish the Order before the Grand Duchy got a constitution. The badge, the ribbon, and the (then) four-class structure of the order were inspired by the Russian Order of St. George. This was probably due to the fact that William II was married to a daughter of the Czar, and that he had received the Order of St. George after his gallant command at the Battle of Waterloo. Doc
    23. Belaruski, Good to see you here at the GMIC Forum!!! Thanks for posting those links I will be needing to use them in 2007. Again, WELCOME buddy Doc
