    1. I have no problems to repair Orders and Decorations if i know BEFORE the result will be satiesfying. I have done this once. I'am not happy with this TWM because IMHO it looks like somebody already tried to repair it by painting cold-enamel or something else on the TWM. the result is very very ugly. it would look much better if the enamel would have stayed damaged. haynau
    2. It is a Faschinenmesser f?r Pioniertruppen Modell 1862. I add picture of mine, made arround 1917/18 whem leather became rarer and rarer and they used canvas instead. the leather pieces rank between 200 and 300 USd, canvas is much rarer. haynau

    5. The AH-Empire published every year (exept 1915/16 as far as i know) the socalled Schematismus, a huge book of 1500 plus pages about active army and navy officers, their ranks, their regiments and units and some short details on general history about the army. For 1918 exist only the lists for the rank colonel and above. this list dating from 31st December 1918 was published by J?rg C. Steiner in a small book in 1992. This book was my source. haynau

    15. Nice piece Doc, a little correction: the iron merit cross was issued with red ribbon in wartime aswell. On the red ribbon ist was given to NCO's and soldiers for long and good service in functions not corresponding to front-line service like milit?revidenzassisten (like Karl Wojyla- the father of pope john paul II, rechnungsunteroffiziere, Waffenmeister, werksmeister etc. On 10th of July 1916 the first 130 bestowals were published: 24 Merit crosses with crown on the kriegsband (bravery medal ribbon) 78 Merit crosses with crown on red ribbon 7 Merit crosses on kriegsband 21 merit crosses on red ribbon on 25th of January 1917 it was published that ALL military organs in the hinterland were allowed to wear there decorations (the edict mentions golden, silver and iron merit crosses, military merit medals and franz-josefs-order) on the kriegsband. regards haynau

    17. Sorry Humberto, it took some time. regards josef
    18. Christian, I'am not very happy if you compare one of the oldest chivalric knightorders to the Umalatova-Awards. Fact is: The golden fleece existed BEFORE the austrian-hungarian empire came into beeing The golden fleece was ALWAYS a socalled house-order of the habsburgs, normally not given for rewards. Different from the spanish branch of the order As the old empire collapsed all belongings of the order of the golden fleece were given to the habsburgs as the order didn't belong to the former state. Different from the Reichskleinodien that stayed in vienna. So there is a historic and legislative continuiy between the order and the habsburgs. the order was always theirs and never ours. regards haynau
