    1. Hi Craig, HJ flag bearers patch. Worn by the bearer of the "Gefolgschaft" flag. If the reverse looks like the one posted below, I'd say it's a keeper.
    2. I'm usually pretty good at identifying badges on photo's....but this one is a little too hard! No chance of upping the scanner resolution and giving us little more to work with? The bottom badge looks to have the wings of a pilot's badge, which would mean the middle one would be an EK1. Top=??
    3. If it is him, here's his history. http://www.ritterkreuztraeger-1939-45.de/L...inz-Guenter.htm
    4. Eric, As ever, your hunting has paid off.. As you know, I'm a sucker for these 'Assmanns', and this one has made my day. Very nice! I've a little way to go but can't seem to find much on this unit. StG 51 was formed from StG 165 in '39. They flew JU 87B's and operated in France there is no mention of the 6th Staffel, anywhere. Shall continue the search..
    5. These bit and pieces look ok, Paul. The officer's breast eagle is very nice. Let's have a closeup reverse shot of the para badge.
    6. At first sight I would say.... not good! The bullion work on senior officers insignia is usually of the highest quality, these tabs just lack the quality I would expect to see.
    7. One of the nicer finishes I've seen. These Juncker flak badges can be quite rough. There are two types of flak badge by this manufacturer; the differences are that one has slightly different styling to the feathers on the wings. Not sure which one yours is... we would need to see a full frontal shot to determine that. Here's one for comparison....
    8. Repaired, but as Kurt says..."nice badge". Thanks for the compliment on the photography, R. Your pix are coming along quite nicely too! Respect.
    9. Ah, you beat me to it, R. The catch, normally the '?' type looks like its been bent over to make it more secure and has, over time, been bent a little too far. it is possible the the pin has been replaced or resoldered. Other than that...If looks good to me.
    10. I would like to see a reverse shot, but going on the pictures supplied... it looks like an original. The connecting piece of metal between the right talon and the swas is a characteristic of found on Pilots's badges by BSW. Saying that, this characteristic can also be found on fakes, so a shot of the reverse setup would go a long way in determining whether right or wrong. In the meantime, here's one for comparison.
    11. G, ever thought of having a glass case made for that beauty?
    12. Hi Jan, A nice 'been there' unmarked Assmann ( a personal favourite) and as I remember it, @ a good price!
    13. Anyone who's thinking of bidding on this pilot's badge...Don't! The badge is a fake, and denazification seems to be a new attempt at marketing fakes of all kinds... Don't fall for it. http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-GERMAN-LUFTWAFFE-P...1QQcmdZViewItem
    14. Hi Douglas, My first reaction?Cast copy of an original ?Juncker? RO/AG badge. It has none of the characteristics I would expect to see in an original badge. The bird looks to be made of aluminium, mounted onto strangely coloured base metal wreath? The hinge is incorrect for both ?Juncker? and ?JMME? buntmetal / aluminium badges. Not much more to comment on, except to say?I wouldn?t want this piece in my collection.
    15. A small addition to the collection... KvK 2nd class with swords. NSDAP 15 year service. NSDAP 10 year service. Commemorative '13th March, Austria medal'. Westwall medal.
    16. Truly impressive pieces, FD.. Rare in used condition, doubly so in the condition we see here. Very, very nice.
    17. An excellent bar, Chris...and having the documents.... nice. Tell me, is the lifesaving medal rim stamped?
