Chris Boonzaier Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hi, is ir 39-40 or 39-45 Thanks chris
Hans N Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Hi Chris, it´s the 39-45. Below is the 39-40 type
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013
Hi Hans,

thanks, both very cool looking awards! are they for completely disabled, or also for wounded?

thanks

Chris

Hans N Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Hi Chris, well there is no differance in the finnish terms. A wounded is a disabled as well in their way to look at it in a post war perspective. Each wound is veiwed and calculated in percentages
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 They are really well designed... almost like viking jewellry.. could you show the backs? Was there anything for Finns wounded in WW1?
Hans N Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Hello Chris, sorry for the very late reply to you requests. Here is the reverse of the 39-45 badge that started this topic
Hans N Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 The finns didn´t take part in the WW 1 but had a Civil War in 1918, when they succesfully drove out the russians and became the independant nation we all now now. I don´t have the 1918 type but i do have some pics of one made in gold.
Ulsterman Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 whoa, real gold? are there award numbers? can you trace a badge recipient by the number?
Hans N Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 whoa, real gold? are there award numbers? can you trace a badge recipient by the number? Yes, it´s made of gold. Most likely a privately purchased one. As far as i know the finns don´t have any excisting number lists although theoreticly it´s possible to trace an award but it would be a wast job going thrugh the solders one by one
Jani Tiainen Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Yes, it´s made of gold. Most likely a privately purchased one. As far as i know the finns don´t have any excisting number lists although theoreticly it´s possible to trace an award but it would be a wast job going thrugh the solders one by one The golden one is badge of the merit of the Liberation war invalids association. It is very small compared to the actual Liberation war wound badge (Picture attached). Jani

Jani Wow , Thanks Jani , first one I have ever seen Now on my wanted list ..... together with a MB E-63 AMG , and Yacht and some other small things Christer
Jani Tiainen Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 That golden badge is one of the few Finnish awards I have never had. The estimated number of awards is about 10. Jani PS. I have Jaguar E-type on my wanted list.
