Showcase from the arsenal (Zeughaus, Berlin-Germany) with the memories at emperors Napoleon I. The hat was returned to 1957 by the Soviet Union, the medals are still in the national historical museum, Moscow.

Returned by the Russians...... to whom.... the French by any chance huh?? I do not see the French ever returning any of the Louvre trophies... would be jolly nice if they did although I guess.... there would be nothing much left to see then!

What you call the "order of the eagle"

is in fact the "order of the Iron Crown"

which later became an Austrian-Hungarian Decoration.

    Kind regards,

    Jacky

sorry, you are absolutely right, I was a bit distracted by the eagle, it is the order of the iron crown.

I found this while searching around. Unfortunately it's not a list. It seems Napoleon willed his orders to his son.

First page Part II (1) Leaves orders to son

I give to my Son the collar of the Legion of Honour

I give to my Son the collar of the Golden Fleece

-collar of the Legion of Honour

    -collar of the Golden Fleece

    -French Legion of honor medal

    -order of the Iron Crown

    -Danish Order of the Elephant

    now a few questions:

Red, thats a very nice image, but it is possible to recognize any of the awards in the showcase??

Roeland, the star that Napoleon wore in the picture that you posted is the star of the legion of honor??

Here's my guess from the photo:

    Left to Right

    1. Order of the Black Eagle-Prussia (Might be Hessian Order of Ludwig instead)

    2. Order of St. Andrew-Russia

    3. Order of the Golden Fleece-Spain

    4. Order of the Elephant-Denmark

    5. ?

    6. Order of St. Stephen- Hungary(Austrian Empire)

    7. Legion of Honor-France

    8. Order of the Westphalian Crown-Kingdom of Westphalia

    9. ?

    10. Order of the Seraphim-Sweden

    11. ?

    12. Order of St. Joseph-Tuscany

    13. ?
