I hope this paperwork fits into the criteria for this section, but as it is Luftwaffe Flak here goes,

Promotion document for Uffz Ernst Schmidt to be promoted to Wachtmeister der Reserve

in the Schwere Eisenbahn Flak - Abteilung 263 (Heavy Railway Flak Battalion 263).

Dated in Munich 23 May 1942

And a photograph of a very young Kanonier August Filipski.

He did survive the war too, I have his discharge certificate from the occupying US Forces.

    Snoopy,

That is an interesting piece of military! It looks like a scapula bone to a horse.

    Larry,

That is a great board and tab set!! I have not seen a 12 before!

    Bob,

Thank you for sharing your collection of Flak items. I love the vehicle pendants! Did August's grouping come with any other pieces? Did you get this from the vet himself?

    Hi Paul

The group came from Neil Stewart, co-author of 'Waffenrock', I also have a couple of award documents

to him, and his photo album as well, here is the cover of the photo album...

    Hi,

Attached is a picture of Generaloberst Rudel, Chief of Luftwaffe Flak. You will note that his General officer insignia is colord differently than the standard white backing material for Luftwaffe Generals. Rudel had a red cloth backing to his General insignia. I believe he also had a red underlay on his shoulder boards.

Thank you for posting this photo! I remember you telling me that his uniform was on exhibit in some museum. I would love to see a fresh color photograph of it!!
