Bob Lyons Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 I hope this paperwork fits into the criteria for this section, but as it is Luftwaffe Flak here goes,Promotion document for Uffz Ernst Schmidt to be promoted to Wachtmeister der Reservein the Schwere Eisenbahn Flak - Abteilung 263 (Heavy Railway Flak Battalion 263).Dated in Munich 23 May 1942

Gary B Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Hi, Attached is a picture of Generaloberst Rudel, Chief of Luftwaffe Flak. You will note that his General officer insignia is colord differently than the standard white backing material for Luftwaffe Generals. Rudel had a red cloth backing to his General insignia. I believe he also had a red underlay on his shoulder boards.Gary B
Paul R Posted June 19, 2007 Author Posted June 19, 2007 Thank you for posting this photo! I remember you telling me that his uniform was on exhibit in some museum. I would love to see a fresh color photograph of it!!
