Komtur Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 These fakes were raised by a German collector on a German Forum. I thougt I had some comparison pictures but cannot find these at the moment. If some else please might help?! Sorry again, but it isn't my fault - if I'm right at all ... Can?t help with pics of the above mentioned copies, but as some experienced collectors told me, this is an original of the time:the front (later newly varnished)
Komtur Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 (edited) the whole bar Edited June 15, 2007 by Komtur
Komtur Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Hey Komtur, eine richtig tolle Spange. And a pure Prussian bar of a poor Prussian (or as they told to be only thrifty)
Wild Card Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Gentlemen,Following are two bars which I have posted before; but since they pertain to the subject of this thread, I thought that I would post them again for the benefit of our newer members who may have missed their original posting. Also, I have made arrangements for a couple of others who do not stay at home to stop by over the next few days to have their pictures taken.Best wishes,Wild Card
Wild Card Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Gentlemen;Lesson learned - when you promise to post pictures of something, make sure that the people with whom it lives are not away on an extended holiday. So, here we finally have a couple of examples for this thread. First is a pair which features a not often seen 1870 Carl Alexander silver merit medal from Saxe-Weimar.
Wild Card Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 (edited) Reverse. Yes, although these two decorations are full size, they are mounted on a button hole device. Edited July 17, 2007 by Wild Card
Paul R Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Here is my meager contribution. I really love these 19th century bars!Non combatant 1866/70 campaign duo.
Ed_Haynes Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 To avoid needless cross-posting, let me just cross-reference my only 1870 group (though one I like):http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4129&st=70
