EK 1914 Cased 1914 "JWS" EKII

Hi Guys,

I picked this up a few years ago now and never really looked into it much.

Am I right in thinking that "JWS" EKII's are desirable - I'm more TR combat badges and note that JWS also made badges in this era.

I ask this due to a comments made in this thread here:

This is a killer set!! JWS EKs are really hard to get-and the case is a dream...I should start collecting this 2nd class cases!

That is a nice looking, hard to find cross and the case is

one of the nicest I have ever seen.

This maker is extremely hard to find.

The case should be blacklighted, IMO. The catch looks more consistent with WW2/post WW2 manufacture and the lettering/ink just looks a little too crisp and new to my eyes.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the comments.

I just checked th case under UV light and nothing glows here at all - just a dull gray response as per the white ribbon lines.

The lining is now yellowing and the elastic ribbon restraints are starting to lose their elasticity which seems to imply some ageing in both materials.

Nice items though and many thanks for the JWS info as I know very little about imperial EKII's and it's nice to hear that it is a nice one.

First off let me say very nice cross and case!!!

But if anyone is looking for a JWS ek2;there is one sitting at hood.de

right now for (buy it now for 45 euros) but no ribbon.

I already got one so I thought I would let yall know.
