Eric Schena Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Now, I have to ask because I have been offered a bronze one with paste stones: what are the tell-tale signs of a copy for both Hero stars? Also, are Collect Russia's award numbers accurate for both Hero of RSR and Hero of Socialist Labor?
Ed_Haynes Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Many here seem to be alluding to knowledge that is neither proven nor public. Until these arguments are made public, with sources (and "I know" won't be enough to inspire any confidence at all), I think we need to consider the question completely open, with much asserted, nothing proven.

But many collectors switched from Santa to a marvelous world where fakes don't exist... Russian fakers pushed all of those whose money is a too serious thing to waste to believe in every area that an order is supicious until the contrary is proved. All that said, I'm eager too to discover Anatoly's give-aways and the statistical sources quoted by Collectrussia.

All have eyes and can compare and let everyone decides to buy this award at this price or not. ;)
Eric Schena Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Hi Anatoli:I'll see what I can do about getting good pics of it. I did get a RPR period Hero of Socialist Labor star (bronze gilt). That one I will have to post in a separate thread. All:From what I know of them, if the Collect Russia one is gold, the badge should be marked. Every Romanian decoration I have seen made of gold or silver has marks, but I gladly defer to those more experienced with these decorations.
Eric Schena Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Collect Russia added some useful information on their Hero of Romania star that is worth a look. Apparently, there was an article on these decorations in the Sept/Oct 2004 JOMSA (I am not a member, believe it or not, so I didn't know to look there, for what it is worth).
