Stogieman Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Well here's an older photo from my archive. Part of my old Saxony collection.
Stogieman Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Here's a group featuring my Saint Henry Bars
Stogieman Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Here's the ribbon bar of Saxon (and then WW2) General Stengal. Ted has this one now.
Stogieman Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Here's an unusual little Saxon group with a neat 3-place rolled lapel device!
Bob Hunter Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Gotta love those Saxons and their fashion statements! Here is one of mine. More will follow...
David S Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 twenty seconds wait !? I want it now !I've got more with devices but they are 140KB+ and too big to post, will rescan them and postYes . . . a lot of these came from Stogie-land

Stogieman Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Fabulous! many do look a little familiar but just as many don't! Nice bars David (and happy T-Day as well!!)
David S Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 You ought to recognize most of mine... Mine too
David Gregory Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 A simple bar worn by a brave Saxon after 1934 who was awarded the EK2, silver medal of the Military Order of St. Henry, the Friedrich-August and the Frontk?mper-Ehrenkreuz.What would be the rank list abbreviation for the silver and gold medals of the Military Order of St. Henry?[attachmentid=17252]
David Gregory Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 These two bars might look as they could have belonged to the same man at different times, but they came from quite different sources. When I posted them on the WA forum, Daniel Krause offered the explanation that the longer bar may have belonged to an NCO from a technical branch who served with a W?rttemberg unit and later received his Saxon awards after being promoted to officer status.
David Gregory Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 The colours of the sewing threads used on the back of the longer bar shows a certain attention to detail.
notned Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Great Bars Gents! Alas...i have no saxon ribbon bars as yet, but have several medalbars.Stogieman, the post #29 where you have General Stengel had you noticed that his Generals collar tabs are on backwards? It looks rather strange....Wonder how this would be ???Cheers GentsPaul
Stogieman Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Hi Paul, couldn't tell you why that is, but if memory serves they were "added" by the photographer when he was promoted. Ted could tell us for sure but I think he's in hiding at the moment!
Bob Hunter Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I rounded up a few more Saxon stragglers...
