VtwinVince Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Best ribbon bar and kettchen I have ever seen, superb.
Claudius Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Outstanding group Claudio! (But I think you knew I was going to say that.) Great document and photo trail. The ribbon bar is wonderful with all those Turkish awards. Thank you for showing it.
Claudio Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Thanks for your kind words and compliments! Another picture of Falke, before the war... a bit out of focus... Claudio

VtwinVince Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Claudio, I see Falke was awarded the Ehrenbecher in 1917. Do you have details on this action, and who his Flugzeugfuehrer was? I also think it is great to see aviators with this name.
Claudio Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Hi Vince, I don't have the information about the action which led the Ehrenbecher to be awarded to then Obltn Falke, but I can imagine it was because the sabotage mission behind the lines in 1917... see below... Ciao, Claudio

Claudio Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Here a letter written in July 1917 by KuK Doctor von Schrötter about Felmy and Falke...
Claudio Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 The before posted letter in normal and more readable "Blockschrift"... ;-)
Claudio Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Another document attesting the skills of Obltn Falke on the front in Palestina and receiving the approval of the commanding officer to become an instructor...
Claudio Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Here you can see the name of the commanding officer who signed this paper... (Brigadegeneral Freiherr von Krehs und Kommandeur des XVII. Armeekorps... any info on this high ranking officer?).
VtwinVince Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Really great documents, Claudio. I think his pilot was the later Luftwaffe general Felmy. They must have scored at least one confirmed victory to have been awarded the Ehrenbecher.
