Ed_Haynes Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Wow. Nice! Thanks! Gotta squint some at the ribbons. Those quirky spectrum shifts!
Vatjan Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Great looking set you have there Bob... Too bad I don't have the badges to go with the docs.. Well the search is on!!The best I can do is a picture of the lady above wearing her udarnik and a ribbon bar for what looks like the order of combat valour and something I can't make out....Seems a little unusual to me but I might be wrong.JCI'd say the ribbons are probably a honorary labour medal and maybe an OPS.Though as happened before, I might be very wrong Jan
Ed_Haynes Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 So noted, JC. Thanks. Increasingly, I am coming to see this as no more than a curious manufacturing variation.Flat reverse - low 16, high 961Mirror reverse - low 180, high 5009
Ed_Haynes Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2007/post-679-1169327208.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2007/post-679-1169325292.jpgHere pic of a huge document. Unfortunately not a number on the doc which could be used to tie it back to the badge.Didn't fit on the scanner and I was lazy. Now updated with interior.Just got an identical document (as part of a larger group of documents). No reason to show it, but it may be useful to record the date of award as 30 December 1954. Maybe we're seeing a narrow window here?
Ed_Haynes Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 (edited) After some more discussion here (and in Ulanbaatar), may I offer a revised typology:Type 1 (mirror reverse, thin silver gilt) - Low = 180; High = 5009Type 2 (flat reverse, silvered bronze) - Low = 16; High = 961I'd almost be tempted to see the flat-back as earlier? In the absence of number/date matches it is hard to say. Edited July 5, 2008 by Ed_Haynes
Gordon Craig Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Gents,I can not add anything to this thread other than pictures and the number, 2418, of my Shocker workes badge. I've just received the first three Mongolian badges in my collection.Regards,Gordon
SWE Erik Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 The reverse.Nice one! These badges are really well done. Here is one with a low number./Erik
Gordon Craig Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Erik,Thanks for your post. Rick now has a new low number for the mirror back awards.Regards,Gordon
Ed_Haynes Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Yes, we do have a low number for the mirror reverse. Is Rick now recording these too?Assume this is 148?
Gordon Craig Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Ed,My mistake. I meant to write "Ed' and not "Rick".Regards,Gordon
Bob Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 Just got an identical document (as part of a larger group of documents). No reason to show it, but it may be useful to record the date of award as 30 December 1954. Maybe we're seeing a narrow window here?1954 seems to be a big Udarnik year indeed. Here another (partial) scan of a document I recently received (part of a larger group). Would appear that text on upper half indicates the reason for awarding.

Sorry, look at this: http://aaaa.MoiFoto.ru/17069/f363057Sparks,If you are having problems uploading your pictures it may be because of the size. There is a rather small size limit for new member. Unfortunately,I can not remember what this size limit is. Perhaps someone else can assist here. There is also a place on the forum where you can practice uloading photos.Regards,Gordon
fjcp Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 (edited) I'd be glad to help resize and post pictures. (<110k)JC Edited January 5, 2009 by fjcp
Sparks Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 ОК, thanks for council and helping. I will necessarily take advantage of it. As it is long necessary to be in a category "Probationary Membership"?
