Here is another unit specifyed one, namely from the KGzbV 172. Altough his unit was KGzbV 1

Riddle .......... (do you know the answer why this is ???????? ........... I know but lets think a bit )

The recipient was a Bordmechanic who was wounded while inside the "Cholm" pocket.

And funny thing on Major Erich Z?hr is => he never seemed to have received the Honour Goblet ?

KC : 23.12.1942 - as a Major

The KC was awarded for the efforts of the KGzbV 172 in Russia during the hard winter months january towards mid 1942.

And now lets break our heads over the unit mix up

Document for the wound badge in silver to Feldwebel Walter Moeck of 9. Kompanie, Fallschirmj?ger-Ersatz- und Ausbildungsregiment 3.

He was last wounded while fighting as part of Kampfgruppe Kratzert in the Metz area in September 1944. His ground combat badge document can be seen in the relevant thread. He finished the war with Fallschirmj?ger-Regiment 58.

Award document for the wound badge in silver to Obergefreiter Loatta of Fallschirmj?ger-Regiment 10. At the time of the award, the unit was part of 4. Fallschirmj?ger-Division fighting in Italy.

Here is a ratehr mixed one, the soldier Uffz. B (still alive today - 95 years old) was a trained glider pilot who did see quite some action. I did get this document togheter with a few otehr documents in 2005 directly from the former soldier.

When the glider units where disbanded in september 1944 he was attached as a volunteer towards the F.B.D. where he was wounded on 01.04.1945.

So a Luftwaffe soldier with a Heer unit.

Here are two examples for the Black & Gold to the same soldier. He received his first wounds during the drive to Stalingrad and the fighting in the Barikkady Factory in October 1942 while with IR 577 of 305 Infanterie-Division and then received the Gold Wound Badge while fighting in Italy with Gren.Rgt 954 of 362 ID...
