redeagleorder
Can anyone shed some light on why this bar has an officer's peacetime Saxe-Ernestine Order but only an enlisted man's SCG War Medal for WW1?
VtwinVince
Does seem a bit weird. Possibly a civil servant who later became a 'Frontschwein'?

The duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha gave his house order liberally to his former people even after 1918. Therefore it´s quite possible, that a servant or someone similar later in a lower middle-sized class position got the knight 2nd class.
