bigjarofwasps Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Introducing the new British five pound note.................
Alex K Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 It's smaller, does that have implications as to its monetory value!, I also note that Her Maj, still doesn't look like Her Maj
paul wood Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 The only problem is that in hot weather there is a dangle that they might stick together and you inadvertently give £10 thinking it is five. PS Alex you look much better since you changed sex. Paul

Not that I ever have more than one in my wallet at a time anyway lol.
Tony Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 They won't stick in hot weather unless they're made from a different material than A$ or the SG$ however, I've had problems separating 'brand new' A$ notes so it isn't impossible for them to stick. Give them a go in the washing machine and it's all good
Mike McLellan Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Don't mean to eavesdrop, but what is a dangle?
paul wood Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Mike it should be danger, it's me being somewhat hung-over and dyslexic simultaneously. Paul
hucks216 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) I've already had one tear in two with a folded crease just to the left of the Queen's head giving way and creating two parts! Edited October 24, 2016 by hucks216

That's concerning, I was lead to believe that they couldn't be ripped? Clearly I've been misinformed!!!!!!
paul wood Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 The vegans are at it again because a minute amount of animal fat is used in the production of the £5 a vegan restaurant is refusing to accept them. Sounds like Meerut 1857 all over again. With the Debden works (where they are printed) being laid siege by an army of vegans. Meat eaters being massacred and thrown into a well and the Bank of England besieged for several months. We live in turbulent times. Paul

paul wood Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Could have made a good Monty Python or Q series sketch. Paul
peter monahan Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Can we blow them from gun muzzles? Huh? Huh ? Can we? Can we? Er.. sorry! Got carried away there. Too much red meat for dinner.

hucks216 Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Four £5 notes to keep an eye out for... Four special £5 notes, engraved with a tiny portrait of author Jane Austen, are being been put into circulation and could be worth more than £20,000. The first of four notes featuring art by specialist micro-engraver Graham Short was spent in Kelso in the Scottish Borders on Monday. Three more notes will be spent in England, Wales and Northern Ireland this week. BBC - £5 notes worth £20,000
Spasm Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 While having a look at the fiver given to me at the local co-op when I first saw one, the serving wench said that those with the prefix AK47 were sought after. The woman next to me asked how much they were worth. The teller said "about five pounds I think."
paul wood Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Yes the has been an E-Bay scam on AK47 series, what people have to realise that the numbers go from 000001 to 99999. So if somebody is stupid enough to pay a lot of money for an AK47 £5 then as Napoleon XIV said someone should be "coming to take them away Ha Ha." Paul
