Peter Cornwell
Yup, the world is going mad. Somebody stumped-up the best part of EU6400 in Heidelberg yesterday for an admittedly very nice-looking 1870 EKI with fangs.
Stogieman
Nice cross but what a price!
VtwinVince
Agree, very desirable wide frame, but not at that loony price.

Stogieman
I struggled with this one, bad condition but a great bar and a scarce St. Michael Medal. Final price was $
VtwinVince
Yup, I bid on that one, but the condition was such that I didn't go 'all in'.
Stogieman
Final price on the Albert: $730! This Cased Prussian Red Cross Medal brought $168.50!

Stogieman
Found this bar on eBay.de, currently at 387 Euro. Really nice bar but the St. Henry is a spangenstuck! It’s not an issued piece.
Giannis S.
On the eBay.de also, there is this non-combatant EK1870 medal bar. Starting bid 300€
VtwinVince
That one's fake, probably by the Schraegstich Faker.
Giannis S.
Well, it looks to good to be true. The seller is someone from Belgium who has a lot of items. Including an Albert Knight's Cross 1st Class with crown, bids just over 400€.
Schießplatzmeister
Hello, All items such as the Albert Order Knight's Cross 1st Class with Crown shown listed above that are being sold on Ebay.de by the seller from Belgium are forgeries. The details look quite convincing, but they are all modern forgeries. There are other Ebay.de sellers with various user names selling the same pieces. Beware! Best regards,

VtwinVince
That is nuts. I found one of those, not in great condition, for around 30.00.
Mike Huxley
Well if just a case can fetch that price, I wonder how much they would give me for mine with the cross and the mini?

Peter Cornwell
The frenzy continues. EU 8,000 +25% for an open-back 1813 EKI in Osnabruck last weekend (thanks again Graf for the heads-up). I sincerely hope that the successful bidder is totally satisfied with their purchase for, to me, the silver trim fitting was not to a standard one would expect from an Imperial Court Jeweller's workshop. The cross was also a mite over-distressed IMO. Sour grapes ? Not really for I'm never going to enter that market. That said, I can form an opinion on what is put on offer and EU10K for an 1813 EKI is Wahnsinn.
VtwinVince
I agree Peter. And I would never obtain such a piece without some absolutely incontrovertible provenance.
