VtwinVince Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I'm sure others have noticed this interesting vet organisation Schleife with Bavarian medals, one of which is the rare mini TKM with crown. I made an offer on this grouping, but got turned down. 1
Stogieman Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 @VtwinVince yep, have had opinions rebuked many times on WW1 flight badges. They don’t want to hear it and will not acknowledge the whys. That group you posted I’m watching too, very interesting
waldo Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) Servus, this miniature medal bar is from a Bavarian soldier, who received the silver MVM in 1866 or 1870/71. The entire ribbon is a banner from a bavarian „Kriegerverein“, where the awards of the deceased members were pinned. See here too: https://www.omsa.org/joseph-riedl/ Unfortunately, the condition of the flag ribbon is very poor, so the price is far too high for it. Many Greetings from Bavaria Walter Edited May 7 by waldo 1
VtwinVince Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I agree Walter, looks like there is some serious UV damage to that nice piece of TKM ribbon as well. I made what I felt was a reasonable offer.
waldo Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Unfortunately, this flag ribbon was exposed to UV radiation for too long, so that the medal ribbons also became almost unusable. If the seller doesn`t agree to your price offer, he hopefully won`t be able to sell it for a long time.
Stogieman Posted May 8 Author Posted May 8 Given what I saw one identical sell for in Germany, this was a bargain at under $200!
Stogieman Posted May 9 Author Posted May 9 On US eBay now, asking $750. Fair price I think and can’t argue with the condition. My only concern is the pin looks a little odd? 1
Stogieman Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 Same Seller, 3 separate lots. A very reasonable $380 total. Each one with different years! Also had a Carola Medal and mini boxed but forgot to keep track of them. Probably one recipient for all but no documents so no way to know for sure. 1
VtwinVince Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Agreed Rick, I was seriously tempted, but the condition of the suspension put me off.
Stogieman Posted May 17 Author Posted May 17 Hi Vince, agree on the condition of the suspension but the cross was beautiful. If I was an Anhalt or Napoleonic War collector I would have been on this like white on rice!! I’ve had a number of Prussian Napoleonic era medals in the past, both combatant and non-combatant over the years (including a very nice cased set and a documented 1813 EK2), but I’ve never seen the Anhalt Cross before this one!!
Stogieman Posted May 18 Author Posted May 18 This little group was offered to me by the seller for $395, I passed, but someone else didn’t. Relatively scarce award and nice with the two styles of ribbon bar! 1
VtwinVince Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Again, condition would have to be pristine to command that sort of money.

Stogieman Posted May 20 Author Posted May 20 Well, this beauty sold today at $1677 on eBay.de. Some enamel damage but a wonderful star.
CRBeery Posted May 21 Posted May 21 How do you differentiate between the Godet pieces from war time and the ones made post war with original Godet left overs?
Schießplatzmeister Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Also to be considered is how one would differentiate a genuine piece made by Godet from one made by Mr. Blass in more recent times. 1
