    Hi gentlemens !

After this wonderful post on the orders and decorations of Lippe...

I propose to continue the momentum with this so simple but so pretty Prussian decoration.

There is a lot of variation possible, with many ribbons... Some are very rare !

    Show us all this !

I would start with this pretty 3rd class cross, which I have had for a long time, with its case.

Hallmarked W on the lower branch.

Not the end for me... but later ! 😁

Ohoh, here I can add something very special from a Lippe-guy.

Hauptmann Hermann Kellner (the 2nd) got his crown order 3rd class with swords on 20th September 1866.
But only a picture of him with his medalbar exposes, why this award is so special...
As Kellner II. was in 1866 a citizen of the principality Lippe-Detmold, he was for Prussians concidered as a foreigner and therefore he got his crown order at the ribbon for foreigners (light blue ribbon instead of the black and white Prussian combatant ribbon)!
Actually I don´t know the number of awards, but the number shouldn´t be that big...

    Wow !

    What's a beauty !

More modest for me, a 4th class with swords, Wagner's made...

Cool thread, looks like some heavy artillery has already come out. I have a few grades of the order, here is the somewhat lowly Crown Order Medal. I know you Prussophiles will say 'this isn't a grade of the order', and you're right, it was associated with the order and given at the personal behest of the Kaiser, not through the usual channels. .

Excellent piece Vince and in a very nice original case of issue! I used to have one of these and the Red Eagle medal as well. Both were cased. Unusual and scarce award! Thanks for sharing!

Here is my favourite, a KO2 by Wagner with the 60 Year Anniversary button, with a very elaborate ribbon for wear under the collar. I believe about 20 of these were awarded. Unfortunately the recipient is unknown, but I do know that he also received the RAO3.
