pinpon590
Hi gentlemens ! After this wonderful post on the orders and decorations of Lippe... I propose to continue the momentum with this so simple but so pretty Prussian decoration. There is a lot of variation possible, with many ribbons... Some are very rare ! Show us all this ! I would start with this pretty 3rd class cross, which I have had for a long time, with its case. Hallmarked W on the lower branch. Not the end for me... but later ! 😁 Edited December 30, 2023 by pinpon590
pinpon590
Acquired more recently, this 2nd class cross, also marked W on the lower branch. No ribbon unfortunately, I will have to put a modern one... 😃

Wow ! Third class with X are pretty rare... 🙂
Solomon
Ohoh, here I can add something very special from a Lippe-guy. Hauptmann Hermann Kellner (the 2nd) got his crown order 3rd class with swords on 20th September 1866. But only a picture of him with his medalbar exposes, why this award is so special... As Kellner II. was in 1866 a citizen of the principality Lippe-Detmold, he was for Prussians concidered as a foreigner and therefore he got his crown order at the ribbon for foreigners (light blue ribbon instead of the black and white Prussian combatant ribbon)! Actually I don´t know the number of awards, but the number shouldn´t be that big...
Stogieman
Wow! No that’s interesting! I’m loving these 1866 awards, they’re so scarce!! Nice photo and document!

More modest for me, a 4th class with swords, Wagner's made... Happy new year everybody ! 😀 On 31/12/2023 at 16:40, Komtur said: Generalmajor Oskar Traeger (1865-1937) What a great group ! VtwinVince
Cool thread, looks like some heavy artillery has already come out. I have a few grades of the order, here is the somewhat lowly Crown Order Medal. I know you Prussophiles will say 'this isn't a grade of the order', and you're right, it was associated with the order and given at the personal behest of the Kaiser, not through the usual channels. . Stogieman
Excellent piece Vince and in a very nice original case of issue! I used to have one of these and the Red Eagle medal as well. Both were cased. Unusual and scarce award! Thanks for sharing!
VtwinVince
Thanks Rick, here is another unusual one, an Austrian KO3 in silver with hallmarks on the ring.
VtwinVince
Here's a KO4 with Geneva Cross, which I believe dates to about 1880. It's unmarked, as it should be, and note the earlier, slightly smaller case with the early closure.
VtwinVince
Here is my favourite, a KO2 by Wagner with the 60 Year Anniversary button, with a very elaborate ribbon for wear under the collar. I believe about 20 of these were awarded. Unfortunately the recipient is unknown, but I do know that he also received the RAO3.
Stogieman
Wow! A couple of rather special ones Vince! Thanks for sharing! Love the 60 year button with enamel, first I’ve seen!
