    1. Andy, don't you have it? You used twice the same picture which seems to be mistakenly. Second one should be a quitze big one, with Baden merit medal and Silesian eagle.
    2. With the silver medaillon, from what I know, it must be a 5th class. Nice bar!
    3. What a stunning work this man is doing. Just incredible. But the second picture is wrong. It should be another bar that I have seen before - but cannot find pictures here.
    4. From the new and very useful book "Die Württembergischen Medaillen 1864 - 1933 (einschließlich der Orden und Ehrenzeichen)" by Klein and Raff (English: The Württemberg medals 1864 - 1933, including the orders and decorations), that can, if still any are available, be ordered at Uwe Bretzendorfer. Pages 112/113: 38 mm in diameter, portrait of king Karl, a big wreath around it, the suspension matches... seems to be such a medal by a Württemberg Kriegerverein!
    5. I think the light is playing tricks on us. The first medal, which is at least shiny silver, or even shinier gold, is just over-flashed and thus seems to be larger. I'm sure it isn't: it's a Württemberg civil merit or Kronorden medal for sure. The ribbon does match as well in my humble opinion. Purple(?) with narrow black stripes. The purple is totally different to the red of other Württemberg ribbons, especially on old black/white photos. If it were indeed yellow, it were way darker on the picture. In the mean time, I think I found the last one. Nothing great or special - but I'm glad we could (at least I think so) solve the mystery. I'll have to ask for permission first, before I'll do and publish a scan.
    6. And, as the wearer was a Prussian, we can narrow him a little bit down. He must have been in Garde Grenadier Regiment 2 or in Hussar Regiment 16, as these two were the only Prussian ones Franz Joseph was honour chief. If really like German medal/ribbon bars with this medal/ribbon, and have some smaller (ribbon) bars in my collection, too.
    7. Nothing wrong with it. I assume this one is a real silver one asthey were struck until june 1916.
    8. This is, without a doubt, a Prussian's ribbon bar, and therefore it cannot be Mobilization cross - but they do share the ribbon: Here, it's for the Inhaber-Jubiläumsmedaille See this very fine thread for it: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=32394
    9. Chris, you got it? You were three or four minutes faster than I....... what a luck. No idea what happened to the Gold medal, but Paul's explanation sounds reasonable. Isn't it 5 thousand millions?! So much money for so few bread. (
    10. Kronordenmedaille? Maybe. That would make it a gold one. It depends on when he got it: It is a silver or gold civil merit medal (pre-1892) or it is a Kronordenmedaille (which is, actually, the former gold civil merit medal). It cannot be a post-1893 silver merit medal, as that one used another ribbon. Anyone knows the last one?!
    11. Guess what? This seems to be a full 40 mm ribbon to the 1898 medal for foreigners.. Isn't it?
    12. 24 awarded, from what I know. But I have severe doubts this should be one of them.
    13. Unfortunately not! But I'm sure they are one set, and I'm sure the medal bar might re-surface at some point. I think I'll (again) remember it, and when I see I'll tell you.
    14. Thanks Timo! I was sure the current owner of the medal bar would love to get the matching picture but I haven't heard from him by now. Please, Dean, send me a PM if interrested. Or would I get the bar? ;)
    15. The matching medal bar was offered by Uwe Bretzendorfer last year. If they were a set, what I do believe, they may have been split just in the last year. Haven't you bought this two back then, right? ;)
    16. Almost read right, but it's rather a Lippe Kriegs-Ehrenmedaille. Guess how I know?
    17. This ribbon bar is no good. Typically OHIO fake. If you use the forum search, you'll find similiar ones posted over the years.
    18. Great addition! My father has a very similar one, but both the orders with swords. I guess with one pre and one world war order, it is even more unusual.
    19. I don't see anything that points to a NCO. The Signum Laudis was awarded to officers only, as was the EK2 (regarding foreigners). Seems to be an all-time officer!
    20. Yet without swords on his BMV5bB (or is it BMV5aB?) he could have added from mid July 1915 on... Great! According to Bergmann, 177 such 2nd classes and 367 1st classes were awarded. If you get tired of the picture, I can probably give you another EK wearer for it. ;)
    21. How about Altenburg? (bitte ggf. kurz vorher nochmal erinnern!) The thread starter found it's way to me last weekend, and: I (still) like everything about it. I'm pretty confident he (the wearer) has just not been found due to incomplete lists...
    22. I think number 1, which indeed is an officer's bar, might have chances to be identified.
    23. They are getting better and better. Recent fake, newest series possibly.
