    1. That is a very nice piece indeed. I did not know they made them in that size. A Luftwaffe ace I knew once told me that when on leave, in civilian clothes, MPs actually charged soldiers who did not wear their minatures on civilian clothes. Am not sure if that was official, or just an isolated incident, but it would give an official standing to minis. best Chris
    2. I once had a nice one back in the 80s, have no idea if it was good. It was hand crafted out of a piece of brass and had the same attachment system as these. Originals must be as rare as hens teeth....
    3. OK Guys, any post after this that is not about fakes and sellers will be deleted. we dont want 20 pages of recriminations and hurt feelings. Best Chris
    4. No Description... just believe me.... the first article has a sensational piece of Militaria..... it is more than worth a look!
    5. Hi, lets not forget, Göring also had "Göring awards" that were not LH awards.
    6. You really begin to piss me off with your bragging tac You think I didnt get a 2nd part to MY x-mas present? Well think again.... the nice romantic bathtowel I got for X-Mas from the wife.... includes a facecloth she picked up on sale the week after X-Mas..... So THERE!
    7. Hi Troy, see it as general frustration that this seller keeps suckering people and noone leaves a bad comment on ebay.... all the buyers must eventually find out what bollx they are buying.
    8. Very nice, for USD60 its a steal! wanna double your money ? ;-) Most of them are in really bad condition. best Chris
    9. It is each individual to decide what he would do. I would not trade it for popcorn, but not say a definate no. There are plenty of really sexy pieces out there.... almost any piece in my collection is for trade if you can offer me a piece I like better. Its a philosophy that sometimes brings great rewards.
    10. Its not unknown.... I sold a group to a collector in Italy, 6 months later Nieman sold it... somewhere along the line the only photo of the guy had been removed, 20 "combat photos added" the EK1 exchanged, the CCBT clasp added (doc was there), Schirmmütze added, sword added...... Not sure if it was the collector, a guy in between or the dealer...... I would give the PLM owner a chance to buy it back at market value, or get one in the same condition and pay the postage to exchange them. That and the money for a case of good beer.
    11. That sounds good, I met Christian a couple of times, a really nice guy.
    12. Very nice indeed! It is for a light Minenwerfer. I dream of getting one as nice as this one!!
    13. Hi, I found a little bit on him, am on the road at moment, when i get home tonight I will dig it out. Basically he was wounded twice in a day, and stayed in the trench keeping his men together during enemy arty fire. Watch this space...
    14. Hi, that 2nd one with the Bulgarian and Austrian medals leaves me a bit puzzeled.... I think you had to show your Hindenburg cross to get one? The last one looks kinda nice...
    15. hmmm, I think the combination is TECHNICALLY possible, am not sure how likely though. What gets me is the 2 pinpricks in the HK cross ribbon, as if it had been pinned at some stage in its life, and is now mounted.
    16. I dont know if that is really a word, but here 2 small Boer war and pre Boer war items.... A small vase with Hector Macdonald, C.B., D.S.O. and what i assume is a sweet tim or had tea in it with lord Kitchener, Roberts, Baden Powell etc...
    17. So a "naked" jacket with a LG is in order? From my googling over the past year or so there seems to be more canadian than British jackets, and sometimes some Polemic about the color in these canadian jackets (which are apparently cheaper than the British ones... what would you advise a "i just need one classic piece" kinda guy, as opposed to someone who needs all the variations? Thanks Chris
    18. That is indeed a find.... maybe he was listed early and later in the war they listed all folks who had recieved it, listing him a second time. Best Chris
