    10. Mine is also a fake. The markets in Cambodia seem to be awash with fake coins as well... all those mice big silver French/US/British/Austrian coins that seem to have been so popular 100 years ago... The markets are geared for fools like me. Still, if I am going to get screwed out of EUR40 I am happy it is by a whizzened old Cambodian woman who survived Pol Pot than some wise a?? young street punk.
    11. I was able to reunite this part of the group (EK1 things with wound) thanks to an Italian Ebayer who agreed to trade me the wound badge stuff after he had won it on ebay. A noble gesture... now I am after more of the group :-)
    12. Here is the wound badge doc issued later in 1918
    13. Here another telegram, he seems to have been wounded very early in the fighting in the left eye?
    14. Here is a telegram from Franz Mensch, sent from the hospital in Metz, excitedly informing his girl that he has been awarded the iron Cross 1st class. Its one of those great little add ons to Iron Cross document collecting. I do not yet have the regt history, but for a description of the actions and his EK1 doc... see here.. http://www.kaiserscross.com/41902/87801.html
    15. Here is the second section on "The German Army" completed (more or less) Covered already was the supply troops, now there is a section on the Truckers of the motor Vehicle corps... http://www.kaiserscross.com/85801/home.html

    18. I assume you are talking about M.K.? I would run it by him again. I think he just overlooked the designation. Naxos also has BN not Regt. Best Chris
    19. Well... let the dollar loose another 75% and I will maybe consider buying from the Rittmeister ;-)
    20. Sorry, as the special Canadian-Croat forum has not yet got enough support to become independent and as he hardly fits into the South East Asian forum... the most logical place seemed to be here?
    21. Hi, in many (especially period) accounts of the Boer war the British authors write something along the lines of "And then the Yorkshire regiment attacked with the bayonet. The Boers had no stomach for this kind of fighting and fled the scene." No surprise as you don't engage in a bayonet fight if you don't have one. I think the pre war artillery units had them, but not in the field. best Chris
    22. Nice, I guess the lads have lots of free time now they no longer have to watch the Rugby :-)
