    1. Nice Gerd. I'd use actual Russian uniform cloth. Easy enough to get and the prices are reasonable... I like it, you can finish the wood anyway you like. Patent it quick!!!
    2. Condom tins. bright, happy and colorful. Quite valued in the US by tin collectors. About 25 of them.... US 7th Army Ike Jacket. Pretty cool!
    3. Ribbon wear is convincing. However the finished back speaks officer. I think we have a real bar and someone has messed with the medals.
    4. Heiko, terrible, terrible news. Not just in what you have lost materially, but the time, effort and research... My eyes will be peeled. Please post a contact name and number for the Officer assigned to your case so we can have it available for all. Again, my deepest sympathies.
    5. Nice Micha, good to see a real one! Far too many fake cases out there now.
    6. Surprised no-one commented on the very cool plastic suspension ribbon for the Friendship Medal!!
    7. Second ribbon is the Sax-Ernestine House Order. I would love to have seen this bar!!
    8. With the rather tiring number of fakes of these about, it's really nice to see a true Juncker pattern CCC in Gold. The condition on this one is pretty nice and the photos show the crisp detail that the Juncker pieces were known for. Thanks Jacques!!
    9. Sigh..... I guess that while expected, with the dramatic increase in interest and prices, that the appearance of copies is still a disappointment. My only hope is that my CRB, S/N #88 is low enough to be interesting.
    10. I would agree with Ed, the lower the numbers, the better bet for real research. It will be exciting, but then where do we get the records translated!!!?????
    11. No, it means that soon the police of the world will be coming to return to the Russian Federation all of the items you own... you see, since they can all be tracked and confirmed (OK, many, not all).... the entire nation claims that all their family heirlooms were stolen by "criminal elements"....... you are not in receipt of stolen property!! Bye Bye collection!
    12. I don't think so, after much thought I can't remember any post '38 bars with this device on them.
    13. PS: Y'all do realize that ebay will (in the interest of respecting the desires of the Russian culture) move very quickly to ban the sale of all things Soviet??
    14. PS Mike, PM me, I think I have spange to replace the missing one. The KVK-no swords is out of place but again.. tabby, easy to fix.
    15. The Saxon Bar looks fine to me Mike, the Austrian one is out of order, but easily fixed as a tab-back. Again, I don't think it's bad!
    16. Hi David, are there limitations on what Decoration that can be given to an allied combattant? Seems with a citation like that, especially ending as a KIA, he should have been awarded something a little higher up the ladder? Thanks!
    17. Yep! Wondered if they were still together. No way to prove it, but when I purchased this set last year, that's how it came in. Happy to them again!!
    18. C'mon, it must say "Hitlerites"... not "troops"!! Impressive research Gerd, nice full story. Now you get to search endlessly for the other pieces! I wonder how many will ever arrive on the market, they must be out there somewhere!!
    19. Bigger, better photos would help, scans best 150+ dpi. One real key to these is the rivests. They should be flush/smooth and perfectly filling the holes. The dies were used by Rothe well past wW2 to cranck out badges for the tourist/GI trade. But the rivets and enamels used were very different. Very, very hard to tell what is what with these.
    20. Note the blue case, almost matching the ribbon of the order. It was the only grade of the order issued in a blue case. All upper grades (iV Class and on) were issued in a black case with the Wilhelm Cypher on the lid.
    21. Medal of the Prussian Red Eagle Order, I am not aware of either having been awarded for combat operations.
