    1. Very interesting Daniel...... never seen anything like this one before.
    2. Gerd is correct, the swords/wreath examples are unofficial, but accepted variants and very hard to find
    3. Hi Gerd. Nice collection. Looks like it has been more fun and productive than the minis.......
    4. There's a comment in the "This week's ribbon bar fakes" thread about this seller and his fake ribbon bars as well. Notice he is also selling loose ribbon.
    5. The other thing to note here is that the beading, hinge and pin are all consistent with other known, original examples pre-1920... but NOT from Godet....
    6. pretty sure that's what I just said...... cross with a sham (read that as fake, misapplied, in a manner to deceive, etc.) mark. That might make the mark a sham, the cross damaged goods..... but it doesn't change the fact that the cross itself, might just have been a real one, once upon a time........
    7. Gentlemen & Ladies, please remember that while posting a link is OK, at some point, the pictures will be gone from the auction site.
    8. From the back, it looks very nice, I don't have a problem with the core, other than the softness of the detail. However, having said this, I do not believe it to be a Godet, but rather a legit cross that someone has enhanced with the mark...... I don't think the cross is a sham guys, just the mark
    9. Hi Bob, is that an enameled ribbon bar in the case?
    10. It's not Turkish.......... You have: Prussian Long Service Medal Sax-Ernestine (possibly Sax-Coburg-Gotha) Merit Medal Saxon (one of the Duchies) Long Service Medal
    11. I think we can safely assume that his ribbon bars and medal bars are all "new" put-togethers. Notice he also is selling a rather wide variety of mint, loose ribbons in 15 & 25 mm.?
    12. Interesting that there are the two rather high foreign decorations but only the PCO3 from Germany itself?
    13. Hi Jens. I watched this one go off. Much lower than it's true value, especially with the condition/style of the SABM
    14. Well. I went through my archives, couldn't find Rick's scans. I must have them on disc...... give me a few.
    15. Pinback Johaniter's Order. Unusual in that most (but not all) of the pinback crosses are usually enameled.
    16. Yikes! Slip those rings back under the ribbon folds on that 2X NC EK2 bar and tilt up where it belongs! ;>)
    17. Hi Joe, Welcome to the Forum. Are you talking the Merit Cross in Iron, Or the enameled Military Merit Cross?
    18. Well, any way you slice this, it's a pretty spectacular piece with the Merit Order 1.kl. I can count on one hand the number of those I have seen at all in the last 10 years! Detlev's original description stated it to be a 2.kl. Now....... has anybody deduced WHY Mark thinks the mounting unusual....... ?
    19. Hi Tony, no clue why it would be different?? Quirk of the embroidery? The Gaunt wing has 12 on each side!!
    20. It's really a shame that so many US buyers get turned off by his utter disregard. I have given up wasting my time asking to buy catalogues.
