    1. Not a possible combination for the reason stated by Paul. Combattant 1914 EK2 but no Hindenburg? No, no, no!
    2. I have a large plastic bag full of these. Same stitching and all original, old stock ribbons. A few had white thread and the white glowed like crazy. I'm going to dump them as fakes. Mine came from Germany about 18 months ago.
    3. Hi Gordon, there's actually some very nicely donerepops. I've seen one done on an actual silver-gilt breast star. Very tasty!
    4. Yee God man....... you have a GROUP to this guy?? Documents?? and he held back the FORK2 ???????????????????????????
    5. Not even close... 6501 804414 Thanks Christophe....... at least I know now that A) It isn't a set B) It isn't a fake set All individual pieces might be fake, but the level of deceit doesn't go beyond that.
    6. The reverse. Serial number, which appears to be stamped as opposed to engraved, means either it's an outright fake, or an attempt to fake a duplicate.... ?? What tells you it's bad?? Thanks!
    7. Big photos as provided by seller. As I said previously, to me, the utter lack of detail on the Spassky Tower says NFG on this point alone....... I am interested in knowing if this is correct, what else tells you this piece is bad? Thanks for indulging my inexperience.
    8. Hi Dave, was that his suspension one or the S/B?? He had a couple of S/B that looked quite right? Photos shortly, it would be great to use the opportunity to help "inquiring minds" learn! Thanks!
    9. OK, let me clarify.... Yes, I understand that if the piece is in the book, that doesn't make this one real. My point is, IF it's listed in the book, does the book also list the NUMBERS of his second and third class awards?? I don't have the book, hence the question. The seller also has a second and third class listed individually. My question is: Do all three (3) awards listed constitute a set? Call me curious.... Has he broken a set? Has somebody faked a set? Yes, I understand the extreme nature of the possibility of this being real..... but stranger things have happened. Given that a number of his other items appeared to have been real I will ever be curious. He has sent me larger photos which I will play with and post a bit later so those of you with some real experience might be able to share that knowledge with those of us who don't. My initial look at the pictures he sent and already, IMO, the detail level of the tower, etc. just isn't there. But again, I have zero experience but would surely like to learn something more about these. If it's a fake, why? I understand that a great many of you may find the endless questions, naive curiosity and "newbie" naivity a bit tiresome..... but how exactly can you expect us to learn, if we don't ask?
    10. Hi Rusty, I know it's being sold as a single. That doesn't really answer my question(s). Curious as to what folks think about the piece and if anyone can answer my questions above please? Thanks, Rick
    11. Knight's Cross, Second Class of W?rttemberg Order of Friedrich. Officer's Award, with/without swords. Not too hard to find, but would be very nice with case (yes, it will say 3b on the lid) and document! figure 2-250 Euro, maybe a bit more. An interesting award that does not garner a whole lot of collector interest, but still (IMO) very nice. A tad on the "plain jane" side as orders go....
    12. Yes but... A) Is it real? B) Does the serial number match up in the Cavaliers' Book? C) If (B) is yes, (a real long shot now...) Do the other two Glories listed make this a set??? !!!
    13. Yep, I noticed that too..... some folks are snapping up almost everything that appears. There does seem to be some limits though. Two very nice pieces sold by Dolf over on the Russian Awards Forum re-surfaced in China at a huge mark-up and are now on eBay with no takers despite being listed multiple times. I don't even want to think what that fellow is paying in fees everytime he relists that 4K medal!
    14. Hi Heiko! The one thing I have learned with Imperial is never say never! If it was a group of loose pieces, I'd agree. But mounted up like that.... even without documents or a mini chain that was something made just like it is. No "close enough" work there... someone was proudly making a statement!
    15. Should have bought it Chet! You definately should have bought it... that makes exactly two of that version of the Albert Cross I have ever seen!!!
    16. I think Andreas' Saxon bar of four is the true rarity in that photograph. Who can tell me why?
    17. Very nice cross Matt. Hard to find example as well!
    18. Looks like a clean pair/set to me but that price is outrageous.....
    19. Well, I think the mini chain further backs up this as a legit double award. The telegram is just about the neatest piece of paper I have seen in a very, very long time!!
    20. Looks like: EK2 W?rttemberg w. Wreath W?rttemberg Long Service Prussian/Landwehr Reserve Long Service ???????????
    21. I'm still not sure how you guys can make that statement. There's no shortage of guys who received both combat and civilian awards in WW2 Germany. We've seen MKVK's with both combat and noncombat KVKs in mounted groups. We've seen bars with WW1 & WW2 combat awards and this medal. All legit bars too.
    22. I'm still very surprised by the turn of events with Mr. Peterson. The once premier Luftwaffe collector has set his goal as being the number one seller of reproductioon pieces in the US. I'm sure it will not be long before his fakes have flooded the market and are being offered on eBay, etc. as authentic pieces. Personally, I believe this does more to damage our hobby than anything else.
    23. Devices might be real and I always recommend buying parts when you can, provided the price isn't stupid.
