Hello James, July 26 of 1957 we here in Germany got Das deutsche Gesetz über Titel, Orden und Ehrenzeichen (Ordensgesetz) this was a law that told us german that the former soldiers etc. who got decoration that they must wear decoration without swastika an not all medeals were allowed. Andreas

Hey Joe, while I was surching through my literature I found the emblem it´s the emblem of the 2. Vorpostenflottille.There is an discription in the German Internationales Militaria-Magazin No. 82 from april 1996 written by Eric Lefevre and Bertrand Malvaux Regards Andreas

Hello Peter, it´s 100 % not U 1004. I have got a pictureframe with a collage of his awards and two cap emblems. One is the the cap emblem of U 1004 and it is quite different from the shown one. Greatings Andreas
