    1. It might be a commemorative piece as stated, have you tried checking to see if any memorial looks like this piece? Usually at the unveiling of a memorial or anniversary of a certain memorial they handed similar items out to Veterans.
    2. The only problem is that the bar has a 7th or 8th on it, and you're making a huge stipulation that there was something higher than that on the bar. Whatever it was on there might not be there any more, now there is a 7th or 8th on there, if that's what you like then go for it Plus I could go digging in a list in the archives to find his visit documents, but unless this is 100% sure that this ribbon was like that (ie a 5th, 6th slips out of that ribbon) I'm not sure it would be well worth the time to look I'll take a look if you want
    3. It is also good to have fake groups etc, the documents might be legitimate. They certainly look so to me (again I am no expert) Just because the medals are made up doesn't mean everything is Keep it anyway, it is a good tool for future use. You can compare areas etc and thickness on the medals. So you can avoid this type of thing in the future :)
    4. By the looks of the stamp it looks like he is Ukranian Have you tried ordering research or asking about him ? Ferdinand on our forum would be a good choice (Auke would definitely be a first step in this) It kills me when I see doctored orders and medals, I mean you ruin one order or medal to make a totally different one. So in essence the forger is killing 2 or more groups by editing these numbers....
    5. Ohhhh very nice arrival, if you need them translated, send me a pm
    6. I'll find the citations by Monday and pm them to you from the Japanese side. Should be pretty easy from there to narrow someone down
    7. Fantastic Paja really awesome, I'll check my Japanese sources for requests for the order soon (just as soon as I finish studying for tests this week :(
    8. Wow, that is sad, why even bother faking these less "bling bling" awards and orders :S are the documents valid? (like the photo and other stuff) the book is obviously added on to if the medals and orders are off.
    9. If only I won the lotto last couple nights ago hehehe Thanks for posting this beauty of a set Nick :)
    10. :o *jumps thank you so much Paja for finding these :D
    11. The first thing I noticed was the enamel, but I'm not into badges etc, so I don't know how the Red enamel on them compare to the orders and medals. I also noticed the screwback seems very thin. Again having never seen one of these in real life, and not being a badge guy, that's all I can say about that Could you give us the name of the badge, so I can at least google image search it hehehehe

    13. They are all mad that they decided to wear eye liner to look like their flag
    14. Is it me, or are some of those members wearing eyeliner?
    15. Nick will know about this for definitive, but the rear of the Lenin almost looks like gilded brass (don't be alarmed until an expert chimes in, could be the lighting etc of the picture, plus I'm no expert ! ) You also want to double check which type of beard Lenin has, if this type is common with Pointy beard or Smooth beard etc Be especially careful when purchasing this kind of order, lots of fakes out there so definitely a good idea asking here.
    16. Have you tried the dates for independence July 4th etc? Or one of those options individually, July, 4 etc ? I'll try joining this evening and if it goes through will let you know.
    17. A problem of forgetting you won, would be a cool one to have hehehe Maybe I'll have this issue in two years from now!
    18. Totally agree here It'd also be nice if there was a "viewers poll" for those who didn't place in the categories Similar to what we do in model aircraft competitions it creates a nice 1,2,3 for who viewers liked in the categories :)who didn't have a chance to place.
