    1. Really?? What did you think of him? Did you ask any medal questions?
    2. Is-it a visit commemoration medal when Tito went to India and Burma? I bet Ed would LOVE to see this one. Who received it?
    3. I found a train ticket to Worcester, Mass, a really nice pen knife and a hospital admit ticket from March, 1941.
    4. Ooooh- me too-with paperwork please. Nice one CD. Much later medal + paperwork below:
    5. By the way, I do not know if you have Wooleys' "German Uniforms and equipment 1918-23" but on pg. 43 you will see the Bavarian version of this bar that belonged to Policehauptmann Phillip @ 1923.
    6. Nice- word on the street is that Riemers' book has a few copies/restrikes and fakes in it. I can't say which or where, but he clearly was dependent upon specific dealers. I suspect in a few years after more research has been done we may even find a couple of howling errors....and maybe even a fantasy badge or two. To be fair, reading the text, he was somewhat aware of all this, but the book is far better than no information at all. he shines light on an otherwise obscure area. I am quite glad I got my copy.
    7. Well, I am interested. What and why exactly is it?
    8. VI corps pioneer subaltern? ......recalled to do harbor defenses? Hmmmm....is there a roll of the Bavarian St. Michaels' Orders out there?
    9. ...any chance he was originally in the navy? That "Paris" clasp is a little unusual to army units-and there is a China Noncom medal there.
    10. This book is recently published. Winner of a couple of international prizes , including the Economist's History award. It's authors apparently have been nominated for the palm Academiques and a European Community award of some sort as well.
    11. From the book that Dave Danner found in the NY library: Gen. Oberst von Heeringen, who received the first EK1 for the battle at Mulhausen,p. 12. He had an EK2 from 1870. -Don't know about the EK2 though-
    12. Oh- my... Can you tell us the story behind that? Nothing like that ever comes to visit me-sadly.
    13. I think so- I don't remember the wound badge being with it, but I wasn't focused on it either. It's in my "eBay sales" notes. So, what do you think it'd go for these days? At one time I figured you'd bought @ 80% of all St. Henrys groups out there on the market. With gold at $1000 an ounce i fear for the gold St. Henrys that still exist. Say, do you remember this one? Was this one yours, or did Claudio get it?
    14. Hard to believe but Stogieman outbid me once-$135- on a three piece mounted St. Henry's silver medal, (EK2/St.Henry/Hkx) furled mounting. We didn't know who each other was/were in those days. At that price I almost sob nowadays!
    15. ...and quite a web site it is too! I am impressed. May we have a quick look at the Iron cross, Hindenburg cross, Sanyai medal with bar trio ? Do you know who had that bar (Kod: 18) ? It is very interesting. It appears to be a Turkish made bar, but the Hindenburg cross is most unusual. Do you know my cyberfriend Erureten Metin?
    16. I think #2952 on Glenn's roll-on the WHITE/black (noncom) ribbon as Rudolf, UAstArtz. attached to Landwehr FAR (Sch.Holst). #9.
    17. Interesting. I have always wondered When exactly the 25 year NSDAP medals were awarded. I have never seen a document of one.
    18. very nice! I love the life saving medal. 1. Can you read the old Ottoman script? 2. Do you have any stars that came with documents?
