    1. I have started to research the men for New Jersey, USA who died while serving with the RCAF in WWII. I would like to ask you assistance. Does anyone have the book "They Shall Not Grew Old"? It is about the 18,000 men who died in the RCAF in WWII. If so please PM me. During the war the USAAF tracked aircrews that were missing or shot down with a report title "Missing Aircrew Report" or MACR. Did the RCAF have a similiar report? If so how could I access it? Thanks for the help.
    2. My interest in military history started when I was 12 years old in the early 1970s. At the time there were many WWI vets alive. Although I never talked with one, I wish I had. When I joined the U.S. Marines in 1984 I could have joined the Marine Corps League and possibly found a WWI Marine to talk to but I did not. Regretable. That is why I make ever effort to talk with the WWII and Korean War vets. Have you ever talk with a WWI Veteran? If so, what did they say about the war?
    3. I never thought I would get this much information about Private Park. Thank you all very much. I think I may have found a new collecting area. The medal and ribbon are in very good condition. Could someone estimate the value of it so that I could list it correct in my inventory records.
    4. I have a UK WWI Victory medal engraved on the rim: 2692 PTE. H. Park H.L.I. I guess the 2692 is the serial number of the medal. What is PTE and H.L.I.? If the serial number is 2692, is it possible to trace it?
    5. Wow, that is outstanding. I really appreciate his attention to detail.
    6. Christer, thanks. Louis Leisler Kiep's medalbar was sold in a recent Theis auction (see below). It would be nice to have access to the service records of the Navy officers. I understand that they survived the second war because they were not in Berlin. Has anyone every seen a service record of a WWI Navy officers? Can anyone confirm where the records are?
    7. I think the bar belonged to some type of non-military official. Since the Braunsweig is first he may have been from there and may be in the state and court book.
    8. The below bar has been narrowed down to 3 Naval Officers listed below. Since there has been a lot going on with the Finnish award rolls can anyone see if any of these officers had an award from Findland? Thanks
    9. I visited emedal's site and checked his medalbar. I IDed one. I have a doubt about the bar with the 40 year LS wreath.
    10. I find the story a bit odd. I question if a non-German would have been used as a bodyguard.
    11. Claudio, It would be interesting to see some of your brothers work. Could you post a picture or two?
    12. Great photo. Most should be identifiable as they are pictured in the Germany Navy Admirals book.
    13. Rick L. sent me this image and we were working on the ID. The bar consists of: EK2 WM3 Hindenburg TR 40/25/12 LSC Wurttemberg Friedrich w/o swords Wurttemberg LSC Olympic Centennial I have several questions on this: 1. Why the eagle on the Olympic? 2. Why would an officer from Wurttemberg receive the Centennial? 3. I am correct in assuming that the officer's birthyear would be before 1880? Am I missing anything?
    14. Our forum name maybe misleading. We welcome any and all.
