    1. Can't see clearly. There is no name of Scherner in the Bavarian rolls during WW1. This photo has been taken after 1917 as Scherner received SAOX on May 1917.. I have not find in his prewar medals any Bavarian one. One another research mistake. Christophe
    2. Hi, The fourth medal is theBavarian Military Merit Order 4th class with swords and crown (not oakleaves Alex :-) )
    3. Hi, I have found only the date of the SA3bX : 28.08.1916. If he received the SV3bX, he should be after July 1918. Indeed, E. Roth has found nothing after that date on his book. Denecke was Asistant Artz and serve in Res San Kp 1 Christophe
    4. Paul, This is "Erinnerungskreuz 1866 Königgrätz". This Medal has been created on 22 May 1867. Christophe
    5. Hello, I have just read one article from our Friend Andreas Schulze-Ising and it seems that Schneider has never received the swords on ring to his SAO. So this is probably a mistake from the writter of the Rangliste. Christophe
    6. Hi Christer, Very nice photos. Thanks for showing them. Have you got more photos of saxon officers who served in Finland please ?It's for my personal database. Thanks Christophe
    7. I have in my collection a small ribbon bar with SA3aXKr and EK2 with matches perfectly with the awards of Frölich Christophe
    8. Hello, here is another nice photo of Saxon Hauptmann Arnold Frölich He received during the woar both iron crosses, Beobachter Abz, SA3aX (13 Arpil 1916) and the crown to the SA3aX (18 January 1917). This photo has been taken in October 1916. Christophe
    9. Recently I am fortunate enough to buy this nice photo of Saxon officer showing his medal bar with his SAR1KD, EK2 1870 and D 70/71. With research I can put a name on this nice photo : This photo was taken in 1887 and he was Hauptmann. His name is Moritz Schneider (born in 1848). The most interesting thing doing research is about the SAO. I have found that he received the SAO in 1900. But after looking through the Saxon RL, I have found he has received SAOXaR in 1907. This information is confirmed by the article of Schulze-Ising published in OMM in 1990. The only problem is in the Roth’s book there is no date to put on it. For Roth the only SAO awarded to Schneider is without XaR. So the question is : is there a mistake about writing orders in the RL or is Schneider received both orders ? So if someone has more information about this officer let me know/ Thanks per advance He received the following orders and medals : SAR1KD : 1.10.1870 SAO : 20.06.1900 SAOXaR : 1907 SV3a : 4.07.1889 EK2 1870 : 6.11.1870 El zu EK2 : 1895 DAK : 16.4.1892 RAO4 : 10.09.1889 D 70/71 : 1871 PZM : 22.03.1897 SCM : 1907 PRKM2 : 22.02.1910 SEHC2 : 1898 His promotions : Kadet : 1864 Fähnrich : 1869 Sekond-Leutnant :29.07.1870 Premier-Leutnant : 23.02.1875 Hauptmann : 1.04.1881 Major : 16.09.1891 Oberstleutnant : 12.09.1896 Oberst : 26.03.1899 z. 10. Hi Paul, It was the ÖFJ3. After that, it was easy to find saxon officer who had all three grades of SA3. In the beginning I thought the red ribbon was the SF ribbon. But like I have no match, I look through the Nimmergut's book and find the Austrian ribbon. There is another similar bar for an officer of Ulanen Reg. The only difference is that the other man has never received the SA3bX. He received the SA3aX and after the crown to the cross. Christophe
    11. Hi everybody, Please find here my new little ribbon bar. This bar belonged to Major a. D. Fritz Renner from I.R. Nr. 107. His promotions : Fähnrich, 27 October 1905 Leutnant, 17 August 1906, Oberleutnant, 22 May 1913 Hauptmann, 16 April 1915 Major, 30 September 1920, D., 31 March 1920.
