    1. General Hammer has chosen to wear the ribbon for his neck order to his ribbon bar. Indeed, he received the SH3 but he's got the SH2b and SH2a too. The second ribbon is for the SAxon Merit Order commander cross with X, the third ribbon is for the Saxon Albert Order commander cross with X, the fourth is still the EK2, the fifth ribbon is for the Red Eagle order cross 2nd class with X and the last ribbon is the Saxe Meiningen Cross. So with a single photo, without seeing the officer, there is a lot of possibility to read the ribbon bar. Here is a photo of Hammer with all his neck awards Christophe
    2. Now have a look at the whole photo : Our man is a Saxon General (his name General Hammer). It is possible for a General to wear such order in his ribbon bar. Perhaps if only he served during the Franco-Prussia's war. And this is not the case. So which order did he wear ?
    3. Hi all, Here is photo of ribbon bar from a Saxon officer. For the moment, I show only the ribbon bar. From left to right : SH3 (St Henry), SV3X (a or b) (Saxe Merit Order), SA3X (a or b) (Saxe Albert Order), EK2, HHO3X (Hohenzollern knight cross with X) or RAO4X (Red Eagle Order with X) or KO4X (Crown Order with X) and SMK (Saxe Meiningen Cross) Have a look Christophe
    4. I haven't found officers who received WVK without swords before the war in the combo of SH3, SV3X and SA3X. So definitly this ribbon is a Reuß one Christophe
    5. I found only two names of officers who received SH3, SV3bX, SA3bX RE3X and who survived the war : - Paul Hederich - Georg GrafVitzthum v.Eckstädt Christophe
    6. Hi Matt, A very interresting ribbon bar, which usually should be in my Saxon ribbon bars collection (maybe one day ) The six ribbon is a Reuß ribbon. With this, we can easily identify the unit where this officer served during WW1 : it is the 13 Jäger Regiment or 13 Reserve Jäger Regiment (whose Chef is the Prince of Reuß. BUT where are the swords on this ribbon ? Christophe
    7. Hi Very nice uniforms Naxos, do you have the name of the officer ? Christophe

    9. Hi Paul, If I was you I will pass on it, I don't like it at all. Ribbons, ek2 ribbon missing, pin back. If he was a Mecklemburg officer, I say that because we can find swords on MK2 ribbon and in this case it represent the Wendischen Kronen medal, but were are all the Mecklemburg other ribbon (Greiffen, MK ???) Forget it Christophe
    10. Hi Mike, For me this bar is a good one. I like the Ottoman ribbons I'm not a specialist of the TR, but if it is possible can you make close up of the eagles please? Thanks Christophe
    11. Hi A very nice officer peacetime medal bar. I'm not sure but the long service medal seems to be a 24 yo medal, but I would like to see the other face of the medal please. Congrats for your new treasure Christophe
    12. Hi Lorin, " Does anyone know if there are PFLHO rolls out there?" I remember F. Beyreiß worked on that rolls, but, I'm not sure but I read something he is dead. I can't believe, so I need to see if it's true. We can find this order in the RL 1914 but it will take some hours to find the exact name. Christophe
    13. Luke, Very nice bar you have there I agree with SPM about the last ribbon but the antepenultienne is not the FAK but the knight cross of House Duke Merit Order of the Peter Frederick Ludwig of Oldenburg (knight cross 2ne or 1st class I don't know). I think our man began the War with grade of Major or Oberstleutnant. The back of this bar is a pure Godet style ribbon bar for infantry, not navy. It will be blue. Christophe
    14. has not set their status

    15. Hi Timo, A very nice ribbon bar you find there. I think I have our man :Rittmeister Friedrich von Brodowski from Garde Kürassier Regiment. Leutnant : 17.2.1904 Oberleutnant : 18.2.1913 If the bar belongs to him : Here the date for the orders : BZ3bXEl : 10.01.1916 HHO3X : 18.12.1917 SA3aX : 1918 BUT I can't explain the Baden jubile medal. We need a photo from him showing the ribbon or the medal bar He served in the Reichsheer after the war. Christophe
    16. Claudio, Great group you have there it is possible for you to make a close up of the identity disc please ? Thanks Christophe
    17. Hi Andi, Welcome on board. For your first post, it's a impressive medal bar you post here, congrats Don't hesitate to show your treasure Christophe
    18. And do you see the price, it has changed Like nobody wants this broken group, it will be difficult for her to sell it. Christophe
    19. Hi, Very nice photo indeed. Heiko has right about the name but it is a Prussian officer not a Saxon one. Great job heiko Christophe
