    1. The tall man with lancer uniform on the second pic is Lieutenant Max Mulzer ,a former officer in the 8th Bavarian Chevaulegers . he was awarded with the Max Joseph Order and then became Ritter von Mulzer . he wears the field grey model of the Bavarian lancer tunic called Spencer and not Ulanka ,with the white regimental piping on collar cuffs and lapels. curiously he wears the Parade trousers of the peacetime uniform ,stahlgrun with wide white Lampassen on the sides .
    2. Stuka ,Hess is a territorial family name , applied to those originals from Hesse ,Hessen , a short form of Hessische , Hessian . so it must be common .
    3. My pleasure, WW1 Indian Army is a special matter of interest for me and is hard to find data about it
    4. The man portrayed is a Austro Hungarian NCO of a Mounted branch, Cavalry in first place . all Cavalry units weared a cord on the left shoulder the colour of which was usually yellow mixed with black ,except the Hungarian hussars of the Honved whose shoulder cord was red . the mounted artillery weared also left shoulder cord . the collar patch was in regimental colour for Dragoons , In pairs ,two regiments with the same colour ,diferent metal colour for buttons . they were Black ,Green , Sulphur Yellow ,Golden Yellow, Dark Red, Madder Red ,Scarlet Red and one regiment White , Artillery patch was Scarlet Red , the Hussars used Blue or light Blue patches ,Lancers Madder Red patches and Mounted Rifles Grass green patches .unfortunately the badges on his cavalry field cap are not clearly visible .his rank marked by the two white stars on the collar patch is Korporal Tizedes in Hungarian . Lance Corporal
    5. Stuka , Rudolf enlisted in a Bavarian Field Artillery Regiment then was transferred to the 1st Bavarian IR and lately to the Bavarian 18 th Reserve IR . finally was trained for pilot . I fear that is not his helmet .
    6. Hello Peter ,The use of badges on the pugaree was standard pre WW1 but i suspect that these use was discontinued when the pugaree changed to khaki colour for the field
    7. Stuka ,Understanded ,please when you repair the little picken post a pic
    8. My pleasure , thinking in the restoration i wonder about the cracking in the haube surface and the best way to restore it. have you some guideline '?
    9. Hello Peter, Yes . I want also to comment that the wear of collar badges by troopers or NCOs in the Indian Army wasnt and isnt current, the shoulder title is normal instead .the today Rajput Regiment has a page in Facebook , perhaps the descendants of the man in the photo are able to contact with the unit and with the name of the man search if he belonged and when
    10. The Bayerische Landespolizei existed until 1935 ,the was incorporated into the Third reich Police.

    14. Many thanks ! so the badge on the cap over the cockade must be a miniature of the great cross of the Order
    15. Surely it was easier to transform the turned up cuffs in swedish ones than in brandenburgers
    16. 1812, My pleasure, tifes ,thanks ,thanks also to 922 f .
    17. Hello ,I dont recognize the uniform with ueberrock . blue collar and lapels , blue band on the cap .all made of velvet , apparently General shoulder boards and only the Bavarian cockade on the cap .over the cockade a badge . someone could explain me what kind of uniform is?
    18. Dear 1812 , You are asking too much but i want to add that at least five great German Trade houses operated in Liberia before the first world War .yes Germany is not Austria Hungary ,but the Danubian Empire before the war traded overseas with his own ships . Regarding to Kaiser Franz , In 1884 85 took place in Berlin the so called Congo Conference in these the Independence of Ethiopia ,Liberia ,Orange Free State and Transvaal was confirmed . Austria Hungary was one of the signataries ,perhaps by these reason the Kaiser received the decoration . Finally ,the first recognition of the Independence of my country Argentina was made by Kamehamea king of Hawaii when a Corsair Captain and his ship under Argentinian flag visited the Islands
    19. Hello , The interimstab of Reichsmarschall appears to be lost ,the two other batons of Goering are in USA . the only data about it is that the shaft was made of ivory , the handle and knob probably were made of silver with the eagle in gold , or perhaps due the pompous nature of Goering in platinum as you suggests . another option is gold or gold plated silver
