    1. Hello ,I repeat what Prince Lajos said in his book Helden und Halunken, Heros and Villains, By my own I think that must have exists some resentment from the old KuK or KK czech officers against the Legionaires and their Commanders Sirovy, Stefanik and Gajda because of their dominant often agressive behaviour
    2. Hello ,the breast insignia looks as a Royal Cypher a G and I behind topped with a crown and the crown is definitively not Prussian .
    3. the Czech speaking units of the KuK Army or the KK Landwehr, that ended the war in the Austrian side ,the major part of them . after the Armnistice of November 4th 1918 , retreated to their recruitment areas in good order and with their armament .later formed the basis of the new Czechoslovak Army. of course alongside the returned Legions , from France , Italy and Russia . Prince Lajos Windischgraetz stated in a book he wrote about his life and circumstances that in 1919 1920 the majority of the new Czechoslovak Army hated General Jan Sirovy and the legionaires .
    4. Thinking about the unit I realize that the 3d Czech Army Infantry Regiment could have been raised on the basis of a old KuK Infantry Regiment of Czech Majority
    5. Challenge AZ ZALO Chaquir fusille albanais de la premiere guerre mondiale. as I wrote enter in Internet and you can find some info regarding the Gendarmerie Albanoise . the article is about the Court Martial carried against a Albanian gendarm with the rank of first sargeant .

    7. The reason of the name is unknown but his origin is in the Spanish manufacturer Gabilondo & Urresti ,perhaps called the pistol RUBY in French and not RUBI in Spanish thinking in the French market.
    8. Hello The Prussian, the fourageres are French . the collar number is just visible at the rear of the collar not on the arm colour patch.later in the thirties new numeral badges were adopted in form of oblong pieces of matt bronze with the number/s cast in .probably the wear of the french fourageres was limited to individuals having served in the French raised Czech Legion of two rifle Regiments the 21st and 22 nd . Today the Burgwache , the Guard of the Hradschin Castle wears a Fouragere but more of the type styled among Generaladjutants and ADCs .on the right breast and tricoloured
    9. Hello Gentlemen , You can date the pic between 1925 and 1929 , the man seated at the right in the center with sidecap and lanyard is a Rottmistr ,Senior NCO and probably chief of the platoon , note his badge of rank on SB and sidecap .its a hexagonal plain silver button . on the collars of the corporal with peaked cap you can see the patch in arm colour and behind on the collar ,the number of the unit ,a 3 . infantry regiment i suppose. The man who send the postcard and the recipent are German Speaking ,sadly the writing is damaged but some is legible , Herrn Franz Fischer , n K Honig , nlmacher , Truppensch...Komoton and clearly Bohmen
    10. Hello, that appears as if a mix of uniforms was used the two men in the first pic wears what looks as khaki Fre.nch Army tunics and breeches with a Serbian style cap , both wear the fourragere typical of the French and other Gendarmeries. one man wears two bands of braid over the cap the other nothing , the man on the right wears three stripes of braid over the SBs . both dont wear the regular French Gendarmerie badges of rank for officers and NCOs . The Group of men in the other pic wears uniforms of bleu Horizon but with serbian style caps or white albanian fez in one case .the apparently French officer on the first place of the pic wears a mix of pieces of uniform . a light blue and red kepi ,a khaki tunic and khaki breeches ,perhaps he is a officer of the 4th regiment of Chasseurs d Afrique , a Cavalry unit detached to Korce. On the back of the pic the volunteers apparently wears civilian clothes with only the cap as common distinctive. the last pic shows a officer or more probably a First Sargeant
    11. Hello , In the Summer of 1942 the Germans transferred to the Italians in Ucraina the Administration of circa 50000 sq km populated with about half a million inhabitants , a vast reaguard area to mantain and care . with a friendly population they recruited a Auxiliary Police .to reinforce their own Carabinieri deployed. at the peak of their employement the Auxiliaries amounted to 2400 men distributed in 242 posts . The Italians also raised Cossack units , the Gruppo Savoia and the Gruppo Campello, cavalry units both .they retreated with the Italians and ended the war in Italy
    12. Hello, The theme of the French presence in Albania between 1916 and 1920 is the history of the Republic of Korce or Kortcha named for the Homonym city in south east Albania, main city of the Korce district or Kaza . The French established there a Republic under tutelage supported by French Army units from the Armee de Orient and raised a Gendarmerie Mobile Albanoise , of about six hundred men . with French and Albanian officers . regarding the uniform weared, being the Albanian Gendarmerie raised by the French surely it was equipped with uniforms of the French Gendarmerie Nationale . from september of 1916 onwards the Gendarmerie begins to wear uniforms Bleu horizon ,retaining the badges of the old uniform of peacetime. The Gendarmerie of Algeria and Morocco apart of the Blue uniform was authorized to use a Khaki uniform ,perhaps the Albanians were equiped with this type of uniforms . interesting is the speculation about the head dress . kepis or fez ? probably both due to the fact that the Korce population was mostly muslim ,84000 of a total of 132 000 inhabitants
    13. Hi, I dont know exactly what happens with him but in practice he is AWOL .
    14. Hello Chris and the other Gentlemen , here in Argentina our Army used the German handbook for indirect fire with MGs translated to Spanish . with modifications relative to the main MG in use ,the 1917 28 Colt Browning water cooled in 7.65 mauser. from 1925 to 1978 the handbook was in use . the Colt Browning was in use until 1970 ,then replaced with the FN MAG in 7,62 NATO, but remained in service for the Movilization Bataillons , Well ,i forgot the indirect fire . as it was put in practice according the German handbook it was highly lethal ,specially against troop concentrations that believe to be safe benhind a ridge or a wood and a distances up to 3000 yards .

    18. Hello, Munsterlager is since 1891 a Training place first of the Prussian Army and today of the Bundeswehr . relative to the SBs , there is no disguise when you wears a officers swordknot ,breeches and leggings . no thoughts about the ribbons . One posiblity is that the man is a chemical and was earlier in the Gasplatz Breloh , located in the North of Munster training camp since 1916 .
    19. Hello, the tunic is not standard , It was used by Air Force personnel but also by Mountain troops officers and senior NCOs . the lack of shoulder boards is a curiosity , almost all member of the German Army carried SBs . the cut and quality of the uniform is Officers pattern or at least senior NCO. he carries a bayonet with officers type swordknot. also used by senior NCOs and NCOs officer candidates. the badge on the collar is not clear, I see a 6 , Doctors assignated to the Prussian Landsturm weared a officers type uniform without SBs and with a collar patch on both sides of collar .over the patch ,the Aesculapius rod and serpent and one or two pips .
