    1. I think most KO marked pieces fit into this category. They seem to be too close on the bottom and the 4 in 1914 is crowded next to the frame. I have never been a fan of that maker because of this.
    2. Tony, I am happy to see another Neal return home!!! How many do you have? I am happy that I could help another member out, especially one that has given me plenty of help in the past. I have misplaced my yearbook and I am not familiar with the last medal. Could you enlighten me? Chet
    3. Rick, They were in my secret mine with the rest of them. Funny how these things pile up over time when I really do not try to collect them. I have a Riker mount full now. These are the little treasures that are overlooked in my local area until I find them. The von L?wenfeld Cross with Silesian Eagle I bought because it is the odd type of thing I like to have in my collection. It is the only von L?wenfeld Cross reeban bar I have ever laid eyes on. Same situation with the stick pins. I have a bunch of them now and nearly did the happy dance when I saw this one. Too much stuff out there. I need to sell off some stuff and refocus.
    4. The back side. I like this style as they seem more like a fighting mans piece. Just a preference.
    5. Chris, I believe that is the bar Ed Maroli is selling. I have held it and I saw no problem with it all. I buy from Ed at local shows and have not found anything questionable yet. He actually seems to have a good nose for this hobby. Chet
    6. To all: many thanks to you that helped with this. I do greatly appreciate it. I think this is my first known item to a general. I am very happy as you can imagine. I wish I could give back as much as I receive. Rick, I would be proud if you did use this piece in your article. I hope the pictures are good for you. If not we can arrange a visitation to your scanner if needed. Thanks again, Chet And - toads are OK, stay away from the African milipedes. They secret something along the lines of cianide!!!
    7. Rick, I find the 1866 / 1870 - 1871 thing fascinating. I kind of wondered if it ever started a bar fight as the conflicts were so close together. Here is part of a Baden bar where the owner was not shy about being there. Paul, I am an engineer. I travel to support sales people when they sell my product line so I end up in a lot of places. If I have time before I travel I try to set up meetings with other collectors before I go. It has worked out well and it is fun to talk with someone and get to know them better. It is one of the great things that you can not get from the Internet - so hop on a plane and come over! PS - I picked this one up on a trip to Toronto. I guess it pays to avoid the Canadian "ballet" once in a while.
    8. OZL's??? I thought about that with the Baden medal on the end but there were never any swords on this bar and the color is very dark for an OZL. Was there a color change for the WW1 issue ones that I have on other bars? Not doubting, just trying to learn more. Heiko - I drive around many roads and know a few people. Most people that I know prefer TR items so this odd Imperial stuff gets left for me. As Rick notes I am a little bit lucky. Maybe I should post the other things I came home with??? It really all comes down to time spent looking. Thanks for the help. I hope someone can put a name to this one. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.
    9. I picked this one up on the road this week and I do not know what ribbons 7 and 8 are. The oaks have been removed from the EK2 but otherwise this is a nice bar for the age. Thanks for looking.
    10. I have the possibility of getting another Austrian group like the one on the top. It is supposed to be four places. I post another update if it comes to live here.
    11. I have added a few new pieces including 3 this week which is a record for me. I still LOVE these little guys so if you have any you can part with please let me know. Notice that one is upside down. I have looked at it and I cannot figure out if someone rebent the pin or if it is a period mistake. Several of these have come from members here or through members here and I would like to thank all of them. OCD is a terrible thing!!!
    12. Then I am am totally satisfied. This was hidden way in the bottom of a dealers case. I just saw enough of the medal sticking out to realize what it was. The ribbon was a nice surprise as I could not see it until it was dug out.
    13. I bought this at a local show today. I have never turned one of these up before. Is this ribbon the correct one for this medal? It seems to be the right age and a nice long piece!!! Another little group to hunt for. This medal seems pretty delicate for being struck from iron. Post them if you got 'em.
    14. I have one in a beat up case and I saw another one at the SOS. It may be this one if it is from a US dealer. Mine is marked for a silver content of 1000!
