    1. I didn't notice the sweat shield until Chip mentioned it. I can't remember seeing one in an Imperial Cap...
    2. Communist era. Similar collar tabs but the collar was reddish maroon and gilt. The boards are different.
    3. It's a shame that the many websites and books may never be available in English. I travel often for work and do a lot of sitting outside watching my kids so I'd absolutely love to find audio books on the subject.
    4. I can't say its not real and I not suggesting such. It just seems with an attachment like this one another purpose other than a tunic may have been the intension. It could be for a tunic, it could be for a metal plate, it could have been for ...
    5. I'm not an expert on these but the hardware on the reverse it very unique to me. I've not seen similar...
    6. Here's a very nice Bulgarian Colonel of Artillery that I own. I'm trying to find a visor cap for this uniform and a few orders. I have a few medals but not enough for a display at this time.
    7. I've always been fascinated by Romania and Bulgaria in WW1 but there's not very much in English available. I'd be very happy to find a book on the Romanian campaigns.
    8. Glenn, I greatly appreciate the information you've provided. How were Landwehr units raised? Were men drawn from cavalry units or were there Landwehr cavalry men without a organized unit? Charles
    9. VERY UNUSUAL Has anyone ever seen a hole (in a tunic of course) to support such an arrangement?
    10. Can anyone offer information on this not so common branch? It must be rare because little to no information can be found. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=28075
    11. Very nice visor cap. Dragoons were allowed to wear this cap with their field grey uniform as well at the pre war uniform. Very attractive.
    12. Mike, I'll keep my eyes open. I haven't visited Picklehaubes.com in a while. I must say the "Google"ing Landwehr mainly gives 1800 era Landwehr units. The Landwehr must have been a very big deal in the late 1700s and early 1800s...
    13. Question I have a Landwehr Cavalry Lt's Friedensrock. There are loops for either a 4-5 place ribbon bar or a 2-3 place medal bar. What awards are most likely for a 2Lt in the Landwehr? I guess its Prussian though that leaves it wide open for a man from nearly anywhere. Yes, it's very wrinkled. I need to steam it a bit to release the wrinkles.
    14. A total dumb assk.... He must not have patience to wait for a proper deal. Or, maybe he knows thats the one awarded to Richtofen...
    15. I was just complaining to someone how I've seen no nice ribbon bars to sale lately. Well, at least someone is finding them.

      Luger

Can anyone help me ID a German Luger? Date 1914 Serial number on all parts is 4600 On top is ERFURT under a very nicely detailed crown. Several very small marks. One is an RC under a crown and another is what looks like an old german script L under a different crown than the RC. Maybe more detailed. The may be two other marks but I can't make out what they are.
