    1. Hello Christerd, I am sorry to say that I did not get the cross shown on the WAF, I only added some information on the old obverse/reverse question. You are so right though - those crosses are fantastic... at just about any price. Regardss, Wild Card
    2. Nice, nice, nice Congratulations Claudio! Wild Card
    3. I’m sorry gentlemen. For some reason the address to the WAF thread will not print here. Go to the Imperial Militaria Forum and then to the “Militar-Ehrenzeichen 1.kl”. As you will see, this misconception is often applied to a number of decorations.
    4. Correct, and it doesn’t end there. There is a very good discussion on this topic over on the WAF. http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=452504
    5. Which is the same but in gold. This example has had the öse repaired incorrectly putting it in the plane of the medal .
    6. On 23 July 1814, Duke Franz of Mecklenburg-Schwerin founded the Military Merit Medal for 1813-15. This is a second class example, which, except for the date (1813), on the obverse is identical.
    7. Following up on my previous thread titled “Finally!”, I felt that I should share some background information on the rather unique design of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin Kriegervereinsmedaille which was featured in that thread:
    8. Gentlemen, Thank you all for your kind and enthusiastic comments. Coming from such a group, they are most meaningful. As soon as I can get to the bank, I would like to present some background information on the rather unusual design of the Kriegervereinsmedaille. Seeheld - Here is the reverse. As you can see, there is stitching (thread) present and I do not see any evidence of glue. Best wishes, Wild Card
    9. The first medal appears to be a Württemberg silver Carl-Olga medal which was founded on 16 June 1889. Magnificent bar!
    10. Gentlemen, After years of waiting, searching and unsuccessful bidding, good fortune and a Mecklenburg-Schwerin Kriegervereinsmedaille finally came my way...
    11. Looks good to me, but I will certainly defer to whatever RAO says.
    12. Some other possibilities (I hope that I get the numbers right) - 6. Ernestine order w/swds 9. Württemberg MMO 10. A turkish order
    13. Posts 340 & 341 - beautiful and yes, very under appreciated. Posts 343 - 346 - I have a case just like that (#343) and have been looking for years for something to put in it. Well, good things never come easily; and as you have illustrated here, the wait will be worth it when the day comes. Thank you and congratulations Gentlemen.
    14. Hello Rujab, Congratulations on your two beautiful crosses. I notice the obvious difference in the wappen on the case lids along with the more subtle differences in the crosses themselves. This would seem to indicate different jewelers... different eras...? Could you possibly provide any information on these differences? Thank you and, again, congratulations. Best wishes, Wild Card
    15. When you read all of this (especially her award citation) it is hard to believe that she was not a party member.
