    1. Hi, the first eagle is from the German/Prussian Province Posen, see "Wappen": https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provinz_Posen the third eagle is the Prussian eagle with FR for Fridericus Rex. The second eagle is from the Polish People's Republic. Uwe
    2. Close yes, but not complete, see the different ears. I think, that it is mere chance. Uwe
    3. Hi Jock, why do you write "volunteer"? See in the Reichsarbeitsdienst-Paß > "Die Reichsarbeitsdienstpflichtige" See Wikipedia: "During World War II compulsory service also included young women ..." Uwe
    4. Addition to Post 14 with DE VIGNE-HART They had problems with the name, because I found DE VIGNE HART on another box; and here is the decoration in my collection with DEVIGNE-HART: Uwe
    5. And now the unofficial decoration with the inscription only in Dutch from my collection: Uwe
    6. Hi, it is the Sprenghandgranate DT41 mit Handgranatenzünder DT32. Produced 1960 (GEF. 60). This was an Austrian made grenade with TNT and additional 250g Beton (concrete). Please see here: http://www.lexpev.nl/grenades/europe/germany/dt41.html Uwe
    7. Hi Alex, this is definitely not a "57er made grand cross of the Iron Cross", and that is regardless of who made it and when it was made. This has nothing to do with 57er decorations. It is a copy; 1957er decorations are replacement originals. Uwe
    8. And now I found a very old miniature (on ebay). You can see the differences in the small unperforated and the larg perforated crown (picture from Post 15 No. 3):
    9. Hi WJT, the badge and the cross are nothing special. You can find many combinations between the different veterans organizations, as you can see here: "Deutscher Kriegerbund" and "Deutscher Kriegerverein". There in no correlation possible. The triangle ribbon is also nothing special, you can find that mostly in Austria. I think, that here is nothing to combine especially with your grandfather. Uwe
    10. Thank you very much for your information, because I'm always interested in the "history" of the pieces in my collection. Uwe
    11. Hi, it is an old thread, but I could not find some newer posts about the Belgium Industrial and Agricultural Decoration from 1947, since 1863 Industrial Decoration, since 1958 Labour Decoration. I only want to add here this new (old) decoration in my collection. It is a II. class from 1864, a one piece construction (the center picture is engraved) with a small crown, the inscription only in French: Uwe
    12. Hi Edward, it is always based on the extent of the civilian engagement/deeds (see Post 26). That could be for the "Verdienstmedaille" or for the "Verdienstkreuz am Bande". I was able, to apply the "Verdienstmedaille" for a Master Sergeant, and he got the award. The main reason for the award was based on civilian deeds. In even more civilian activities and merits I could have requested the cross, but that is not easy to justify; especially for a NCO. Normally, in the last decades, you can get the "Verdienstkreuz 1. Klasse" only several years after the award of the "Verdienstkreuz am Bande", with several new deeds. And that is not based on the rank of a soldier. Uwe
    13. Hi kasle, yes, this is the first small badge, 1949 - 1951. There are two different badges with different needle systems: Uwe
    14. That is a very wide field! You can find silver content 835, 925 and 935. "... they made just a few of precious metal. I bet just the early ones" In princible yes, but you can find in the last years gold 333 badges in Nordrhein-Westfalen, for 50 donations up to 200 donations, with diamonds and brillants. For example: It is in my collection, but not based on my blood. And there are so many variations - in the fastening, - in the gold/silver content, - in the numbers, - in the boxes. Uwe
    15. Hi Kim, it should be a membership pin for the "Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen", post WW II. Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen Uwe.
    16. Yes, they are nice: Kollektiv 1965 and "Für ausgezeichnete Leistungen" 1964, 1967 and 1969. Uwe
